2012 Disney Movies, Activity Sheets and Coloring Pages

There were a number of great movies that came out this from the Disney umbrella.  In case you missed any of them I wanted to share a little roundup before we talk about the exciting lineup in 2013!  I’m also including links to all the great activity sheets and coloring pages from the related movies.  Lots to do for the kiddos during the school break!  Tomorrow I’ll be sharing the 2013 lineup with you – you’re not going to want to miss any of the amazing films!

Here are some of my favorites from this past year:

New Year’s Eve for Kids

New Year's Eve Ideas for Kids or Noon Year's Eve for Kids

Kids love opportunities to celebrate – and they love excuses to stay up late even more!  New Year’s Eve addresses both of those joys.  But staying up until midnight or later can be rough on (or impossible for) some kids and sometimes the thought of dealing with tomorrow’s crankiness from lack of sleep can be a little daunting for parents.  It may make more sense for your family to have a Noon Year’s Eve party instead of the traditional New Year’s Eve party.  Whichever route you decide to take, here are some fun party ideas for kids! If you’re looking for an easy treat to make for the kiddos (and big kiddos) for your New Year’s Eve celebration then I think you’ll love this.  These little s’mores kits are fast and easy to put together and are really quite adorable.  Make up a bunch, hand them out, and when they’re ready to eat them an adult can pop them into the microwave for a few seconds.

New Year's Eve DIY S'mores Kits

DIY New Year’s Eve S’Mores

2 pkgs (9 per pack) snowman-shaped Peeps
3 pkgs (6 bars each) mini Hershey bars
1 box graham crackers
Treat bags with ties or food-safe plastic baggies

Place two graham crackers inside a treat bag, resting them against the back of the bag.  In front of the crackers place one snowman-shaped marshmallow on the left and one mini chocolate bar on the right.  Tie the bags closed and you’re done!

These can be customized for any holiday or special occasion.  I had wanted to make some for Christmas with the reindeer Peeps I bought but I ran out of time.  They have tons of shapes now or you could make homemade marshmallows and use cookie cutters to get the perfect shape for your event.

For which other event would you make s’mores kits?

Gift Wrapping Ideas For The Holidays

Magical Wrapping Ideas For Disney Princess Items #DisneyPrincessWMT

This weekend I picked up a few Disney Princess gifts to go under the tree for Bubbles.  They’re going to be really fun to play with but the boxes they come in are a bit oddly-shaped which can make it a challenge to wrap them.  Additionally as this is really the first Christmas that Bubbles has shown any interest in the holiday festivities I wanted to make the presentation of them as fun for her as possible.  As they are Disney gifts I thought it was appropriate to add a little Disney magic!

One of my favorite Disney experiences is the Beauty and the Beast stage show.  I love how the curtains draw back on the stage and the excitement begins.  That inspired me to create my own “reveal” packaging for the Fisher-Price Disney Princess Songs Palace. Continue reading »

Our List Of Christmas Books For Toddlers

Bubbles has been a lot of fun this year with all things Christmas, and it’s not even December yet!  I can’t wait to see what she thinks of snow, a live Santa Claus,  gifts under the tree, and many other things.  One thing she is already loving, though, is sitting with Mama or Daddy and reading Christmas stories.  I thought I’d share some of our favorite Christmas books for toddlers.  Some are new, some are classic, but all are fun!
