Our List Of Christmas Books For Toddlers

Bubbles has been a lot of fun this year with all things Christmas, and it’s not even December yet!  I can’t wait to see what she thinks of snow, a live Santa Claus,  gifts under the tree, and many other things.  One thing she is already loving, though, is sitting with Mama or Daddy and reading Christmas stories.  I thought I’d share some of our favorite Christmas books for toddlers.  Some are new, some are classic, but all are fun! (Be sure to check out all the other great Gift Guide items and giveaways here.)

New Christmas Books - The Night After Christmas
I know you’ve heard me say a number of times how much I love books, and especially Christmas books.  Now someone has found a way to extend the joy and excitement that comes with Christmas stories; there is “The Night After Christmas” book.
“The Night After Christmas” picks up where the iconic “The Night Before Christmas” book leaves off.  It takes you back to the North Pole with Santa after the presents have all been delivered and the children are all snuggled in bed with their new gifts.  I always wondered what Santa did on Christmas night – and now I know!
Baby C. has let me read this to her a few times and she loves the illustrations.  I’m sure this will find a home in our yearly reading rotation.  I’ve heard from a few others that it’s quickly become a much-loved book in their homes.  I think you will love it, too.

Where to Buy:

“The Night After Christmas” is available in both soft cover ($8.99) and eBook ($0.99) form from retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Buy.com.

I remember very vividly – and fondly – my father reading to me as a child, and especially around Christmas.  Because we live over a 1,000 miles apart and we get to see each other so infrequently, I knew that those memories would be a little more challenging to create with the little one that’s due in February.

I remember my father reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to my brothers and I each Christmas as kids.  So when I was asked to review the Hallmark Recordable Book of the same title I was happy to do so.  I knew that I wanted to send it to my Dad to capture him reading the beloved story so I could share it with his grandbaby.

Once it arrived I read through the instructions so that I would be able to assist my Dad if he had questions.  The instructions were both easy and clear however.  You literally just read the text on the page, flip, and repeat.  When you finish and it sounds the way you want it to, you just pop out the battery and slide the button to LOCK.  Now your work is saved!  And you don’t lose the story when you change the batteries.

I mailed the book to my Dad with a note as to what I wanted him to do and why.  He called me up to let me know he received it and how easy it had been to follow the instructions.  He also thought it was a great idea for a keepsake.  As soon as I received it back, I flipped through it to listen and read along.  It definitely brought me back to my childhood!  I can’t wait to share it with my new little one and give them the opportunity to hear their Grampie’s voice any time they want.

I’ve always loved Hallmark and their collectible keepsakes.  I’m really glad they have started offering this new product.  They have many titles available, including Frosty the Snowman, The Very First Christmas, Guess How Much I Love You and many more – 15 total!
