Disney shorts have always been one of my favorite things about Disney movies.  The shorts have been a way for artists to play around and try out new concepts before turning them into bigger projects.  They also can give us brief peeks inside the lives of characters we already love.

I’m not alone in my love for them, apparently, because you can buy Pixar Short Films Collection 1 and Pixar Short Films Collection 2 on DVD.

Now that Bubbles is older, I feel confident in taking her to see movies at the theater.  She loves the experience of the big chairs and the big screen, and even if she doesn’t always catch every joke or nuance, she likes laughing along with everyone else.  And if she also gets to order some popcorn, she’s in seventh heaven.

The Cooper Family Surviving Another Day inin Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, #VeryBadDay

When I received the invite for us to attend a screening this past week for Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day I suspected that it would be a good choice for the whole family.  It is, after all, based on the children’s book of the same title.  Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day was a book I remember enjoying as a kid, and so I was interested to see how it would translate to the big screen. There are so many exciting things about the new Disney Tomorrowland movie coming on May 22, 2105 that I don’t know where to start.

Tomorrowland Movie - May 22, 2015

First, there’s the cast.  I have been in love with Huge Laurie since the first episode of House and I’m glad to see he’s coming to the big screen.  Add in Judy Greer, Tim McGraw and others and there’s a lot to be happy about. Continue reading »

Since Disney Frozen released last year and Bubble and I went to see it in the theaters, it’s been a pretty foregone conclusion that she would want to be Elsa for Halloween this year.  What I didn’t realize, though, was that she would also want to dress up like Elsa every. single. day.  While singing “Let It Go” and doing the, as I call it, “Elsa flip” with her hair.

Disney Frozen DIY Elsa Cape - No Sewing Machine!

Finding Elsa costume pieces was nearly impossible for awhile.  I truly don’t think even Disney anticipated just what a magical hit Frozen was going to be, and demand vastly overwhelmed supply.  So we made due with Bubbles using the little blue shawl and hat Aunt Sherri sent us to wear last winter, and Bubbles used one of her blankets as a cape. When I was a little girl, I was beyond excited when friends of our family – Rod and Wendy – asked me to go on a weekend vacation with them.  Much to my surprise, part of the weekend festivities was attending a Disney On Ice show.  I still can remember sitting in my seat with my program on my lap, anxiously waiting the start of the program.

Disney On Ice Princesses and Heroes

I have been wanting to take Bubbles to see one of these shows for awhile now.  With as much as she loves Disney, I have no doubt that she’ll love Disney On Ice.  My theory is supported by the fact that every time the commercials are on TV she jumps up and down and asks if we can go.
