After what feels like weeks of nonstop rain, we were finally supposed to get a break with two days of sun over the weekend.  I woke up on Friday to find that we had been granted a bonus day, as the skies were clear and it was already warming up.  It was a little bit like being in school and finding out it was an early release day that you didn’t know about.

Easy DIY Sidewalk Paint Tutorial

Apparently I wasn’t the only one who felt that way, as when I walked outside nearly the entire neighborhood was out.  There were lawn mowers being gassed up, lawns raked, garages being cleaned.  We all had spring cleaning fever and no one was going to let the opportunity to get some work done pass us by before the rain started to fall again. When I was younger a meet & greet with Santa was always an exciting day.  Outside of that, though, there wasn’t much chance to have interaction with the Big Guy.  As I got a little older, letters from him started showing up in the mail during the month of December which definitely helped build the anticipation.

Create a personalized Santa Claus video with Portable North Pole

For kids today, though, there are even more magical options.  Recently I was introduced to Portable North Pole and their awe-inspiring personalized Santa videos.  So when they offered to provide me a pass to the site and partner on a post so I could share my experience with you, I was excited to see exactly how the process worked. I received Super Duper products in order to facilitate my review. All thoughts and words are my own.

A bit ago I shared with you our experiences with the MagneTalk game from Super Duper.  Creating stories with the magnets and scenes was creating lots of opportunities for imaginative play, so we were looking through the site to see if there were any other similar games.  There ended up being a number of games we found that looked like they would be fun.

MagneTalk Mealtime Game from Super Duper Publications

The first game we selected was the MagneTalk Mealtime Game.  After enjoying our first MagneTalk product so much, I knew this would be a hit, too.  The set includes 48 magnets and a game board that breaks a dinner plate up into the major food groups.  You can have your child sort by food type, create a balanced meal, or make up silly food pairings. I received Elf Magic Christmas Elf to help start a family Christmas tradition.  All thoughts and words are my own.

I think establishing family traditions is really important.  It’s something that bonds your family together and gives you situations you can look back on over time and recall together.  Growing up my parents provided us with lots of special family traditions, especially around the holidays.

Many of those traditions I’ll be continuing with my own family in years to come, but Bubbles is on the young side to understand or appreciate most of them.  I did think it would be fun to invite a Christmas Elf to visit us as a way to help her understand the Santa-side of Christmas.  When I saw the Elf Magic Elves I thought their soft, huggable bodies made them the best choice for introducing a Christmas Elf tradition to a toddler.

Snow days can pop up unexpectedly and it’s nice to have some quick and easy activities on hand to keep the kiddos busy.  This Build Your Own Snowman printable will keep them occupied until the snow stops and they can head outdoors to play.  Just click the image below for a printable version.

There are lots of ways to keep the fun going, too.  You can attach them to magnetic sheets and cut them out so they can stick them on the fridge or a cookie sheet.  You could also cut them out and laminate them; they’ll be durable for multiple uses and kids could even color on some of their own additions.
