Disney shorts have always been one of my favorite things about Disney movies.  The shorts have been a way for artists to play around and try out new concepts before turning them into bigger projects.  They also can give us brief peeks inside the lives of characters we already love.

I’m not alone in my love for them, apparently, because you can buy Pixar Short Films Collection 1 and Pixar Short Films Collection 2 on DVD.

The information, gift card, gift pack and giveaway have been provided to me by Hard Rock International. No celebrity or musician has endorsed the “Does Your Child Look Like a Rock Star” contest.

Bubbles loves music. Especially when she gets to sing, or when she gets to “play” the guitar – which she called her “rockstar” for about a year. So when we heard that Hard Rock International was launching the fun new Roxtars, I knew we had to find out more.

With a majority of my formative years falling in what’s affectionately known just as “the 80s”, it should be no surprise that I love that era.  I mean, what’s not to love about the decade that brought us the music of both Bon Jovi and Paula Abdul (“Forever Your Girl” and “Livin’ On a Prayer?”  Aces.)

The Goldbergs

The Goldbergs Complete First Season now on DVD

Last year when The Goldbergs came out on TV, I was a little beside myself with joy.  I watch that show alternating between shouting “yes!” and laughing out loud, because I remember.  That striped shirt that Barry often wears?  I know people that wore that shirt (big props to the wardrobe folks, by the way). Now that Bubbles is older, I feel confident in taking her to see movies at the theater.  She loves the experience of the big chairs and the big screen, and even if she doesn’t always catch every joke or nuance, she likes laughing along with everyone else.  And if she also gets to order some popcorn, she’s in seventh heaven.

The Cooper Family Surviving Another Day inin Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, #VeryBadDay

When I received the invite for us to attend a screening this past week for Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day I suspected that it would be a good choice for the whole family.  It is, after all, based on the children’s book of the same title.  Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day was a book I remember enjoying as a kid, and so I was interested to see how it would translate to the big screen. There are so many exciting things about the new Disney Tomorrowland movie coming on May 22, 2105 that I don’t know where to start.

Tomorrowland Movie - May 22, 2015

First, there’s the cast.  I have been in love with Huge Laurie since the first episode of House and I’m glad to see he’s coming to the big screen.  Add in Judy Greer, Tim McGraw and others and there’s a lot to be happy about. Continue reading »
