Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue opens in just a couple of weeks (July 18th)! Bubbles is counting the days as much as I am; every time she sees a trailer or commercial on TV she jumps up and down and shouts “That’s the movie we’re going to see at the theater! The new Planes movie!”. So, clearly – we’re excited.

Free Activity Books: Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue Book #FireAndRescue

Today our friends at Disney sent over some awesome new Planes: Fire & Rescue themed activities. Everyone loves free activity books and sheets, and these will give the kiddos something to work on while they count the last few days until the movie’s release.  Download the Planes: Fire & Rescue Activity Book is available as part of a partnership between Smokey the Bear, National Parks, and the heroes from Planes: Fire & Rescue. You may have heard that there’s this little movie playing in theaters.  The one that dominated the box office last weekend.  The one with Angelina Jolie.

Angelina Jolie is Maleficent #Maleficent

The movie is Maleficent and I have heard nothing but amazing things about the film.  We have Austin & Ashley’s graduation party tomorrow, and Austin’s graduation itself on Sunday, but next week?  Next week will be a Maleficent movie date for hubby and I. Continue reading »

One of the movies I’m very much looking forward to – Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day – will open on October 10th of this year.  I love the book, and I can’t wait to see Jennifer Garner and Steve Carell bring it to life on the big screen.

This X-Men: Days of Future Past movie post is sponsored by Global Influence. All words and opinions are my own.

The more commercials I see for X-Men Days of Future Past, the more excited I get.  We’ve always enjoyed the X-Men movies, and this one looks like it could top the others in terms of awesomeness.

And, let’s all be honest. Hugh Jackman.  Yes.

It opens on May 23rd, a few days after Ashley graduates, which means she should be home and available to babysit while hubby and I have a date night.  It’s been awhile since we’ve had the opportunity to catch a movie at the theater, just the two of us, so it will be a nice treat.

X-Men Days of Future Past Exclusive Axe Gift Pack with FREE #XMen Movie Poster

Before we head out to watch it, I’ll be stopping by Walgreens to pick up the X-Men: Days of Future Past Axe® gift pack with a free movie poster inside.  Both hubby and Austin like many of the Axe products, so it’s something we’d be buying, anyway.  Maybe gift packs for each of them for graduation and Father’s Day.  The free X-men poster will be a nice little bonus. Recently we received a copy of the new My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: A Dash of Awesome DVD.  Bubbles discovered the show on TV not too long ago and really seemed to enjoy it, so it was good timing for us to share our thoughts with you on it.

My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: A Dash of Awesome is a compilation of episodes all about Rainbow Dash.  Rainbow Dash is actually one of the ponies I remember from when I was growing up, and I always enjoyed her spunk and enthusiasm, so this was a fun DVD for us to watch.  We were pleasantly surprised at how much content there was, too, as the DVD was a full 120 minutes.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: A Dash of Awesome

My favorite episode on the DVD was “May The Best Pet Win!”  Rainbow Dash is trying to choose the best pet for her and there are a lot that would like the job.  She tends to think that her pet needs to be special, fast, and better than anyone else.  So she sets up a competition to pick the winner, but learns a little something about what makes a good companion along the way.
