Just thinking about Jake & The Neverland Pirates the fun theme song pops into my mind.  Sometimes a song getting in your head like that isn’t a great thing, but when it’s Jake it’s awesome.  It puts a little bounce in your step and a smile on your face.

Disney Junior's Jake and the Neverland Pirates Battle for the Book - comes with a fun (free!) checkerboard bandana game and tokens right in the case.

Jake and his friends are characters we really enjoy.  In fact the LeapFrog LeapTV Disney Jake and The Never Land Pirates game has become Bubbles very favorite to play on our LeapTV. And, of course, we watch on Disney Junior. Continue reading »

I’m so, so excited for the Disney movies 2015 slate that was recently shared with me.  It is going to be an absolute powerhouse year with a new Avengers film, a new introduction into the Star Wars franchise, and some other great titles – both live-action and animated.

Disney Movies 2015! The Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Slate for 2015 has been released. Titles include Strange Magic, McFarland USA, Cinderella, Monkey Kingdom, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tomorrowland, Inside Out, Ant-Man, The Jungle Book, The Good Dinosaur, Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Disney’s Into the Woods opened on Christmas Day and I have heard nothing but great things about it.  I’ve always loved musicals and musical theater – and actually did some theater in high school – so I’m really looking forward to this adaptation.  Unfortunately I’ve been under the weather for the last few days so we haven’t made it over yet but hope to next week.

Into the Woods fun facts: Mackenzie Mauzy as Rapunzel in Disney Into the Woods

In the meantime I’ve been enjoying listening to the phenomenal Into the Woods soundtrack.  Did you know that the music for the film was pre-recorded over a two-week period at Angel Studios in London with a 56-piece orchestra, composed of some of the best musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic? Somewhere around junior high my family started a new tradition of the entire family going to a movie on Thanksgiving night.  There were 10 or so of us that went and it was always a fun way to end the day’s festivities.  There were a surprising number of other people there, and I found out that for many it wasn’t just a Thanksgiving tradition, it was a Christmas one, too.

Into the Woods opens Christmas Day 2014

I’m trying to remember if we saw any movies on Christmas Day.  If we did, none really stick out to me.  But this year, I think that’s going to be different.  Because this year Into the Woods opens on December 25th and I think it’s going to be awesome. Continue reading »

So by now you’ve probably already heard that the highly-anticipated lineup of movies dubbed Marvel Phase 3 has been anounced.  Apologies for not sharing this news sooner, it’s just been a little hectic lately!

Marvel Phase 3 Announcement: Marvel's Avengers Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2

I first found out about the announcement while we were driving home from the restaurant a couple of weeks ago.  I am fairly certainly that the people driving next to us probably thought I was having a medical event, because I was bouncing around and gesturing wildly as I read the news on my phone (don’t worry, hubby was driving).  I kept scrolling and scrolling – the lineup is massive – and punctuated what I was reading with an “Oh my gosh!” and “You’re not going to believe who is in this?!”.
