This shop and my home office organization has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions and shouts of joy are mine alone. #BIGDeal #CollectiveBias

I started working from home in 2008, so I’ve had a home office for many years.  As a blogger, though, my home office organization needs have changed a great deal between now and then.  I have less need for filing cabinets and more need for, say, an area to take pictures and a place to store all my “stuff”.

To say that my home office had started to get a little overrun is an understatement.  I love shopping for photography props so I had plastic tubs of dishes, linens, accessories, holiday items and more.  The main problem with this, though, is that half the time I would buy something and then promptly forget I owned it.  And if I did remember owning it, finding it was another challenge. This is a partnered post brought to you by HomeZada. All thoughts and words are my own.

There is a lot that comes with owning or living in a house.  You have to store all home documents like a mortgage or rental agreement, insurance papers, and warranties and contacts for any work you’ve had done or are in the process of completing.  Plus there’s a lot of upkeep for landscaping, appliances, and the inner workings of the house itself.

It can be hard to keep track of it all without making your head spin, or without something going missing or you forgetting to do something.  I’m an extremely organized person and can lay my hand on pretty much anything you could think to ask for, but even then it usually means rummaging through a bin or box to get to what I need.  Wouldn’t it be nice to have it all online in one spot?

Many of us are starting the New Year by tackling organization projects.  For us, our three main organization projects for January are the garage, a storage closet that was turned upside-down by the holidays, and our pantry.  I’m one of those people who actually look forward to labeling, sorting, and putting things in their place so I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

I thought I would put together a list of organization tips, tricks, storage solutions, free printables, DIY home solutions, and more in order to help you cross off all the areas on your lists this year.  I’ve broken them down by area, type, or category so you can quickly find what’s most applicable to you.  I hope they help! I received samples of Stock-It-Pockets that inspired these craft storage ideas. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I think most of us, even those who typically love to keep things organized, have one spot in their home that could use a little TLC.  It’s usually a kitchen drawer or random closet that even when you try to keep it straight, it just doesn’t work.  Kind of like the episode of Friends where Chandler opens the normally neat Monica’s secret “throw all” closet and is shocked by what he sees.

For me, it’s always been my crafting closet or space.  There are just so many spools of ribbon, bags of buttons, bottles of paint and other odds and ends it’s hard to keep it all tidy.  I even bought a few plastic bins which generally keep me on top of the organizational ball, but they just weren’t cutting it.

Craft Storage Ideas with Stock-It-Pockets Over-the-Door Organizers

Now, though, I finally have a handle on my crafting supplies.  I found over-the-door organizers called Stock-It-Pockets and I have filled them full of my crafting goodies.  The 22 pockets hold all the odd sizes perfectly. Continue reading »

This is a sponsored post on behalf of MOS Cord Organizers. All thoughts and words are my own.

I know there are worse problems one can have in life, but I have to say that a snare of cords is pretty high on my list of annoyances.  Between my laptop, all our cell phone chargers, the video monitor base, and the other random items five people can accumulate, sometimes I feel like I need a degree in knots.

I can only imagine it can get frustrating for Ashley in college, too.  She is fortunate enough to have a dorm room to herself, but no dorm room is super-huge, so there’s not a lot of wiggle room.  And she has her Macbook, iPhone, iPod, and other items located on her desk.

So for Christmas we’re looking into one of the MOS Organizers.  Each kit comes with a base in scratch-resistant white or black plastic or anodized aluminum.  Also included are 3 magnetic cable ties, a Micro Suction cup to secure the base without need for anything to leave behind residue, and a 3M double-sided adhesive circle that will hold your cables vertically.
