Recently we received a copy of the new My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: A Dash of Awesome DVD.  Bubbles discovered the show on TV not too long ago and really seemed to enjoy it, so it was good timing for us to share our thoughts with you on it.

My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: A Dash of Awesome is a compilation of episodes all about Rainbow Dash.  Rainbow Dash is actually one of the ponies I remember from when I was growing up, and I always enjoyed her spunk and enthusiasm, so this was a fun DVD for us to watch.  We were pleasantly surprised at how much content there was, too, as the DVD was a full 120 minutes.

My favorite episode on the DVD was “May The Best Pet Win!”  Rainbow Dash is trying to choose the best pet for her and there are a lot that would like the job.  She tends to think that her pet needs to be special, fast, and better than anyone else.  So she sets up a competition to pick the winner, but learns a little something about what makes a good companion along the way. Happy Easter!  So thankful that today actually feels like Easter – warm and sunny!  And we’ve been able to enjoy the day with family and friends.  Really a perfect day.

Bubbles had a wonderful morning of chasing down eggs and opening treats.  Then we had lunch, where one of Ashley’s friends from college declared my White Cheddar Mac & Cheese (no chicken or broccoli today) the best food on Earth.  Yeah, that will make you smile.

Frozen "Easter Egg" - Rapunzel & Flynn Visit Arendelle

Now something to make all of you smile!  You may or may not be aware that Pixar is kind of famous for “Easter Eggs” in their movies – a character or item from one will end in another in a really small way.  Disney does it, too, like when Rapunzel and Flynn show up in Frozen (see above!). Disneynature Bears roars into theaters today and I’m so excited for a number of reasons.  First, growing up in rural Maine, I’ve seen my fair share of bears (as in, “Oh, look, guys.  There’s a bear in our yard.”) and I’m really looking forward to a movie dedicated to them in their natural environment.  I also have yet to be disappointed by a Disneynature film; the first four releases were Earth, Oceans, African Cats and Chimpanzee, and they all were gorgeous, engaging movies.

I also love that Disney has continued to invest so much in showcasing nature.  One one of my first visits to Walt Disney World in Florida, we had the chance to visit Discovery Island, which closed in 1999.  It was a zoological park where you could see animals in their natural environment, watch shows, etc. – kind of a precursor to the beautiful Animal Kingdom. This post is sponsored by HoneyBaked Ham. All words and opinions are my own.

I’ve many times written of how much I enjoy the food choices available from HoneyBaked Ham.  Whether it’s Christmas Eve or Easter dinner, it’s just not a meal without a spiral-cut HoneyBaked Ham.

This Easter will be no different.  I actually just called today to reserve a ham to be picked up on Saturday.  I was told you don’t even need to reserve one, as they have plenty.  So if you’re still on the fence about what to serve, know that you can call them up or even just stop in between now and Saturday and you’ll be able to serve your guests a mouthwatering ham with that signature glaze!

HoneyBaked Turkey Breast from HoneyBaked Ham #HoneyBakedEaster

Back when I was studying the HoneyBaked Ham catering menu for our Big Game party I happened to notice that in addition to ham, you could also buy HoneyBaked Turkey.  They have turkey breasts year-round, and whole turkeys are available seasonally.  So the other day when we were trying to decide what to do for dinner, I suggested that we give one of the turkey breasts from our local Louisville HoneyBaked Ham Cafe a try. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Urbini. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.

When we were prepping for Bubbles’ arrival, one of the things we researched was a stroller.  I knew we wouldn’t need one right away, but when we looked at the options, I found that there were a number of “travel sets”.  A combination stroller with a car seat that could go from base in the car, to snapping into the stroller.  Very convenient!

People also encouraged me to get a travel stroller.  I kind of brushed the idea off, because the stroller that came with our set was a pretty sweet ride, and I couldn’t imagine why we’d want to use anything else.  Like needing a golf cart when you had a luxury SUV.
