Thor: The Dark World Now on Blu-ray and DVD + Thor Party Ideas

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been enjoying watching Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. I was excited when I found out that we’d be receiving a screener copy of the disc; you may remember that I actually had the honor of walking the Thor: The Dark World red carpet and watching the film at the premier, so I was chomping at the bit for the chance to see it again.

I also was excited that everyone was going to finally get to see the movie I’d been raving about for months.  Not everyone had the opportunity to catch it in theaters, so nearly literally as soon as I carried it in the door everyone was asking when we were going to watch it.  I was anxious for them to see it and share their thoughts (and I was anxious to see Tom Hiddleston again), so I popped it in the Blu-ray player and we all sat down to watch. Enjoying Family Game Time with Hasbro’s The Game of Life

I’ve always loved board games.  Sunday afternoons and many weeknight evenings in my childhood were spent playing any number of different games.  As I got older, they would often turn into marathon games where the board would have to be placed aside and revisited later to determine the winner.

Now that I have a family of my own, board games are a tradition we continue.  While Bubbles is a little young for many of them, she still loves to join us all, taking part where she can.  And if the game is really above her skill level, she participates by rolling the die, spinning the wheel, handing us cards, or just cheering, “You can do it! Go, go!” for whomever currently is taking a turn. Continue reading »

Dance and Sing Along with the GiggleBellies

Bubbles has always loved music, as I think most kids do.  As she gets older, though, she seems to enjoy it more and more.  Part of our morning routine is dancing and singing together, whether it’s to the theme songs of her favorite cartoons, country music videos on TV, or music streamed from my phone over our speakers.

When the GiggleBellies offered to send us a collection of their award-winning GiggleBellies Musical Adventures music videos on DVD, I said yes, thinking these would be right up Bubbles’ alley.  I hadn’t heard of them before, but I thought they’d be cute little videos, a fun distraction in the middle of all this cold, snow, and ice.  They ended up being so much more!

To say that Bubbles loves these videos is an understatement.  I was on my way out the door when the package arrived, but when I returned home, my husband said she’d already watched all three of the included DVDs, one of which was a collection of lullabies.  Each disc has anywhere from 9 to 13 animated videos done in 3D, and each one is about 2-3 minutes or so. New “Planes: Fire & Rescue” Movie Trailer

By the number of times I’ve mentioned how much Bubbles loves Disney Planes, you can probably guess that we’re anxiously waiting on pins and needles for the Planes: Fire & Rescue movie.  It flies into theaters on July 18th, 2014 and really, if we could just time-travel to get there and see the movie, I’m sure Bubbles would approve.  It’s one the entire family can watch together, and you can bet we’ll be there on opening weekend.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella on DVD Today! Plus Free Printables

It’s always an exciting day when a new Disney show or movie becomes available on DVD.  Today’s it an offering from the Disney Junior channel, which of course makes the youngest member of our household quite excited.  Especially since it features all of her classic Disney character friends.

We received a review copy of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella on DVD, which released today.  Our family is no stranger to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so I was sure we’d love this new tale, and I wasn’t disappointed.  Your little ones (and maybe some of you big ones) will love it.
