Bubbles hasn’t been feeling very well the past few days.  She feels a little bit like she’s missing out on all the Christmas festivities so I decided to put together a couple of fun activities that she could do while sitting.  In fact, she really doesn’t even have to get off the couch unless she feels like it.  The games I created are easy to play sitting, standing, or on the go.

Having fun with Disney Planes toys and Disney Planes-themed Christmas games (like a printable Christmas Word Search, and a matching game) #PlanesToTheRescue

I chose these two activities for another reason, too.  First, Bubbles has been very interested in learning how to spell and read lately so I thought a Christmas word search would be good practice.  And second, she loves to match and sort (everything in the house) and chocolate kisses are her favorite treat; I thought it would be fun to combine the two. Disney Planes Fire and Rescue flew into theaters yesterday.  We had been promising Bubbles for weeks that we would go to see it the day it opened.  There was a 2:30 p.m. non-3D matinee, and so we packed up some snacks and headed to the theater.

Disney Planes Fire and Rescue Review: Dusty, Blade Ranger, Dipper, and Windlifter

The very moment the movie started, Bubbles exclaimed “That’s the song from the first Planes movie!”.  She was right; the instrumental intro was music shared from Disney Planes.  I liked how they tied them together right from the start. Continue reading »

Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue opens in just a couple of weeks (July 18th)! Bubbles is counting the days as much as I am; every time she sees a trailer or commercial on TV she jumps up and down and shouts “That’s the movie we’re going to see at the theater! The new Planes movie!”. So, clearly – we’re excited.

Free Activity Books: Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue Book #FireAndRescue

Today our friends at Disney sent over some awesome new Planes: Fire & Rescue themed activities. Everyone loves free activity books and sheets, and these will give the kiddos something to work on while they count the last few days until the movie’s release.  Download the Planes: Fire & Rescue Activity Book is available as part of a partnership between Smokey the Bear, National Parks, and the heroes from Planes: Fire & Rescue. With as many times that we have, today alone, watched Disney Planes, I figured that it’s appropriate to be sharing some new Planes news!  There is a new trailer for Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue – one that we’ve watched roughly 30 times in the past couple of days.  Bubbles begs me to play it every time I pick up my laptop.

Bubbles isn’t the only excited one in the family.  I love that not only are they doing the sequel, but that they’re doing it so fast!  So often you have to wait years for a follow up to something great, but not this time.  Planes: Fire & Rescue will be in theaters on July 18th.

Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue - Dusty

Our old friend Dusty (voiced again by Dane Cook) returns to Propwash Junction excited about his racing career.  But when a fateful training run causes a career-ending injury, he decides to train with the Aerial Fire Fighters at Piston Peak Air Attack Base as a Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT). The heroic, often life-threatening efforts involved are admirable, but sometimes seem impossible to master, especially when Dusty has injury that can’t be ignored. Continue reading »

I can’t believe I’m typing this, but Bubbles turns 3-years-old this month.  Seriously, I know the cliches about growing up so fast and how time flies – but it’s just so true.  She’s more preschooler than toddler, and lets us know what a “big girl” she is on a regular basis.

Her birthday party will be this weekend, and when offered multiple choices on party themes she, unsurprisingly, chose Disney Planes.  So this week I’ve been working on a few favors and supplies.  I still need to finish up the party favors and treat bags, plus finalize my cake design.  But I think I have all the table decorations and paper goods so not too much left to do.

Which is good, because Bubbles is super-excited about her party.  She asks every morning if it’s her birthday yet, rattles off the guest list, and asks about her Disney Planes cake.  She also has invited pretty much everyone at any store we’ve been to in the past two weeks. Continue reading »
