I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Sturm Foods, Inc. I received a promotional item and product samples to create my hot chocolate bar as a thank you for participating.

One of the things I look forward to most with cold weather is the chance to drink hot chocolate and other coffee drinks.  Granted I do indulge in these other times of year, too.  But there’s just something about wrapping your hands around a warm mug on a cold day.

I like to serve hot drinks to our guests during the holidays, too.  We have planned guests, but we get a lot of drop-in family members that visit.  So this year I decided to set up a permanent hot chocolate bar so we would always be ready to entertain.

How to Create a Hot Chocolate Bar #MC

Fortunately with single-serve coffee machines creating something like this is easy.  Just pick a spot and set up your machine, then surround it with lots of Caza Trail coffees and Grove Square hot chocolate and cappuccinos.  Then add in your favorite mix-ins, toppings, and a few treats and you’ll have a beautiful hot chocolate bar. As part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias® I made this blondie recipe and other treats for Halloween.  All words and thoughts are my own.

Halloween is almost here, and that means it’s time to start getting ready for Halloween celebrations!  I love hosting, whether it’s for a crowd or just a fun night in with our immediate family members.  Putting together a spooky (or a fun-spooky, with a toddler) table filled with candy, delicious sweets, and refreshing drinks is something I look forward to doing each year.

Blondie Recipe Using M&Ms and Snickers from Mars Variety Packs #shop #SpookyCelebration

Every year I always buy a couple big bags of candy, usually the Mars Variety packs.  My husband’s favorite candy bar is Snickers, I love Peanut M&Ms, and we both like Twix and Plain M&Ms so this particular mix is a good choice for us. Continue reading »

For those that read Views From the ‘Ville regularly, you know how much I love a theme.  All of the Avengers lend themselves well to a special night of fun so I thought it would be fun to share some inexpensive ideas to have an Iron Man 3 Family Fun Night.  If your family isn’t already chomping at the bit to hit the theater this weekend, these should help get your family pumped up. College Basketball #SnackMadness Prep

College Basketball Viewing Party Prep With Walgreens' Balance Rewards #SnackMadness

For those who read my blog regularly you know that we’re huge University of Kentucky college sports fans.  So this time of year – the college basketball season and the following Tournament – is especially fun for us.  The Cats aren’t exactly lighting up the boards this year (which is not usual for us – the University of Kentucky basketball team is the winningest team in college basketball history) so I’m not even sure that we’ll see them in the tournament.  Of course our fingers are still crossed that they will, but even if they don’t make it, we’ll still be watching the games.

When you have teenagers life can be a little unpredictable.  You never know when they’re going to call and say “Oh, by the way, I’m bringing five friends over to watch the games”.  And if you have teenagers – especially teen boys – you know that filling the pit they call a stomach isn’t easy.  Carrot sticks and pretzels aren’t going to go very far.  Fortunately we have a Walgreens just down the road – literally like a mile – that’s easy to pop into and grab last minute party supplies. Party Ideas to Celebrate Oz the Great and Powerful

Oz the Great and Powerful Party Ideas

I love a themed party, which you probably could tell from my Avengers family night and Minnie Mouse party ideas for Bubbles’ birthday party.  I have some fun ideas planned for some of this summer’s upcoming movies and one of them may just need to be an Oz the Great and Powerful party.  I am so anxious to see it after hearing all the great reviews.  Fortunately it opens next week so the wait is almost over.  We’ve actually been invited to a pre-screening early next week and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to attend.
