Excited to partner with Walmart & SheSpeaks to bring you some fun ideas for spring gardening with kids!

It’s been chilly here the past few days, but it’s consistently getting warmer and more sunny every day.  Spring really wants to shine!

Spring Gardening with Kids: A DIY Upcycled Planter + Free Printable Plant Growth Tracker!

To get ready for spring we’ve been doing lots of spring cleaning, including getting the garage organized.  While he was moving things around my husband found some seeds we had left from last season.  Bubbles immediately declared that we needed to plant them.  The only problem with that was… we only had gardening soil, but no starters or planters. I like finding ways to add a surprise element of fun to an otherwise “everyday” kind of event.  Bubbles is always and forever wanting to play with and in the boxes that get delivered to the house, so I thought it would be fun to turn one of them into an actual cardboard box car that she could play with.  And since we’d received a few kids DVDs in the mail over the previous few weeks I decided to unveil the “car” as part of a drive in movie experience.

Make an easy DIY Cardboard Box Car for a fun drive in movie experience for your kids

Bubbles has pretended that cardboard boxes are all manner of vehicles in the past.  But I figured that with a few inexpensive supplies I could make a cardboard box car that would last a little longer and help enhance her imaginative play.  The best part was that it only took about fifteen minutes to make and most of that time is taping the “body” of the car. We are so thankful that the weather is progressively getting better and better.  We move from snow in March (let’s not think about any more of that) to a very, very, very rainy April.  But that old adage is true – April showers have brought May flowers, and with them the opportunity for a lot more outside fun.

Party Ideas to Celebrate Oz the Great and Powerful

Oz the Great and Powerful Party Ideas

I love a themed party, which you probably could tell from my Avengers family night and Minnie Mouse party ideas for Bubbles’ birthday party.  I have some fun ideas planned for some of this summer’s upcoming movies and one of them may just need to be an Oz the Great and Powerful party.  I am so anxious to see it after hearing all the great reviews.  Fortunately it opens next week so the wait is almost over.  We’ve actually been invited to a pre-screening early next week and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to attend.
