This shop and my ideas for a backyard safari have been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions and tiger sightings are mine alone. #FuelTheirAdventures #CollectiveBias

Bubbles has a lot of different interests, but one that hasn’t waned since she was even just a few months old is her interest in animals.  She’s curious about their habitats, what they eat, what they liked to do, and more.  So we read a lot of animal-themed books and then I try and come up with projects or activities to tie in to reinforce the learning (and fun).

Easy DIY Safari-Themed Lunch Bags for your backyard safari adventure!

One idea I came up with recently would be for us to have a backyard safari.  We don’t exactly have a savanna or jungle behind our house but I thought we could do a few fun things.  Here are some suggestions for your own backyard safari. Continue reading »

This shop and my Descendants DIY jars has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions and love for villains are mine alone. #Disney #VillainDescendants #CollectiveBias

I’ve always had a little bit of a soft side when it comes to Disney Villains.  Is it a matter of choice, or are they a product of their circumstances?  I mean, it’s hard to hear the backstory of Maleficent and not feel at least a smidge of sympathy for her.

Disney Descendants DIY Painted Jar with Mal's icon. Great to store your Descendants doll accessories in!

When I started to see commercials for Disney’s Descendants I knew I wanted to watch the premiere on The Disney Channel.  Fortunately my little Disney “mini me” Bubbles was happy to oblige and we sat down to watch it together.  I wasn’t disappointed – it was great! Continue reading »

This shop and my summer fun BFF gift tote has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions, nostalgia and BFF memories are mine alone. #ShareYourSummer #CollectiveBias #ad

My friend Emily and I always seemed to find something fun to get into during the summers.  Bonfires, taking road trips to Old Orchard Beach, watching Grease while eating take out from the local diner.  Even during our college years summers were our time for catching up and having adventures.

BFF Gift Idea: Share summer fun with your BFF with a Summer Must Haves Beach Tote

Summer stretches out longer here in Kentucky but back in Maine there’s not too much longer before kids go back to school and summer winds down.  Both Emily and her husband work in the school system so their slightly more carefree days are about to end, too.  Before that happens, though, I’m sending her a BFF gift – a beach tote full of summer must-haves to remind her of all our fun times! I like finding ways to add a surprise element of fun to an otherwise “everyday” kind of event.  Bubbles is always and forever wanting to play with and in the boxes that get delivered to the house, so I thought it would be fun to turn one of them into an actual cardboard box car that she could play with.  And since we’d received a few kids DVDs in the mail over the previous few weeks I decided to unveil the “car” as part of a drive in movie experience.

Make an easy DIY Cardboard Box Car for a fun drive in movie experience for your kids

Bubbles has pretended that cardboard boxes are all manner of vehicles in the past.  But I figured that with a few inexpensive supplies I could make a cardboard box car that would last a little longer and help enhance her imaginative play.  The best part was that it only took about fifteen minutes to make and most of that time is taping the “body” of the car.
