Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and for someone I know, it’s a very special one.  I’m so excited to share that my sister-in-law and my brother are pregnant with their first child!  So this Mother’s Day will be her very first one.

Mommy to Be Gift Basket Ideas for Mother's Day #BestMomsDayEver

Next month I’ll have a whole lot of baby fun, but to kick off this special time in their lives I wanted to put together a Mother to Be gift basket for Mother’s Day for her.  I’ve filled it with some things I think she’ll need throughout her pregnancy, as well as a few cute gifts I found that I thought she’d appreciate. A few months back, Austin made it official: he swore in for the service.  He leaves in a couple of months for basic and following directly that some additional training for paratroopers.  Yes, he wants to jump out of planes and helicopters.  I’m more one of those “Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?” people, but it’s something about which he’s very excited.

Swearing In

The Army has a tag line associated with them: Army Strong.  While I’m sure that it refers to their mental and physical prowess, I’m confident that it could also refer to something else: the smell of a soldier and his laundry after PT. Continue reading »

This Pass the Puffs get well soon gift basket ideas post is sponsored by One2One Network. All words and opinions are my own.

This winter has been a particularly rough one for the flu and colds. I knew it was really bad when I received an email saying that there was a high flu warning for the Louisville and Cincinnati area. It’s definitely put me on high alert as to ways to avoid getting sick in the first place.

Make cold & flu season a little easier with these easy Get Well Soon Gift Basket ideas, like cough drops and Puffs Plus Lotion #PassThePuffs

But it’s not possible to always avoid getting sick. In fact, I’ve actually been feeling pretty run down for quite a few weeks. There’s rarely been a day when my desk wasn’t covered in tissues, cough drops, and a glass of orange juice. Continue reading »

Hickory Farms Signature Chocolate is a partnered post.

You may remember a few weeks ago when I shared how when I was younger Hickory Farms had often been part of our holiday traditions.  Even though our Signature Pantry Planner box is pretty much gone now, I’ll be picking up another gift box for our trip to the in-laws on Christmas Eve.  Tradition is tradition, after all, right?

When you’re considering your own family’s Christmas traditions this year I encourage you to make donations of time or money one of them.  This is an especially hard time of year for those who already struggle; they could definitely benefit from a little Christmas magic.  Plus giving back makes you feel good so it’s a win-win situation. Gifts for the kitchen are some of my favorite gifts to receive.  Whether it’s appliances, gizmos, gadgets, new foods, cookbooks – it doesn’t matter.  If it’s related to cooking, I’m excited.

Here are a few of my favorite foodie gifts.

Stainless Steel Trivet Scale

Foodie Gifts: Brushed Stainless Steel Trivet Scale from Salter

I love kitchen scales but sometimes have a challenge with finding the space to store them.  You don’t have to worry about that, though, with this Brushed Stainless Steel Trivet Scale from Salter.  Not only does it only take up a tiny bit of space but it can also be used as a serving trivet for your table.  The front scale display slides into the base keeping it clean, protected, and out-of-the-way.
