I received a copy of The Little Mermaid 2 and Ariel’s Beginning 2-Movie Collection in order to facilitate my review. No additional compensation was received and all thoughts and words are my own.

The Little Mermaid has always been one of my favorite Disney movies.  The songs, the colors, the under the sea adventure, the romance – it’s the whole package.  I did always wonder, though, about the origins of the kingdom of Atlantica and what Ariel and all her siblings were like when they were little.

I also wondered about what happened with Ariel and Eric after they were married.  Was it truly a happily ever after story?  Did Ariel regret giving up her fins and family for a set of legs and love?

The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning and The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea 2-Movie Collection

To answer those questions, a few years ago Disney released both Ariel’s Beginning and The Little Mermaid 2.  I didn’t have the chance at the time to pick up either copy but now that both are available in one collection, I knew it was time to add them to my library.  Especially because Bubbles enjoys The Little Mermaid, also, and these would be something we could watch together. The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. All thoughts and words are my own.

When I was growing up if you would have told me that some day I would not have a landline phone, I wouldn’t have believed you.  Even though I was an extremely early-adopter of cell phone technology – I’ve had a cellphone for nearly 20 years – I never thought they would replace landlines.  And yet as cellular service has improved in quality and portability, I and many others have switched to using them exclusively.

While there are definite benefits to cutting the line and going cell-only, cost is not one of them.  Especially with the addition of texting and data plans, the monthly cost for cell phones can be a significant portion of your budget.  I’m always on the lookout for ways to keep that bill from getting out of control and recently I heard about a new one called Zact. I received an item from Museum Tour in order to facilitate my review. No additional compensation was received; all thoughts and words are my own.

I’ve always loved getting catalogs in the mail, especially toy ones.  Christmas was an especially good time of year for it, as there was always the Wish Book and other thick catalogs that would arrive.  But no matter what time of year it was, I was always on the lookout when my Mom would bring the mail home.

One catalog that I wasn’t familiar with – but that you very well may be – is the one sent out by Museum Tour.  Their fall catalog reached 2 million homes.  It’s packed full of toys and fun learning activities for children to participate in beyond museum or science center walls.

Thank you to Disney for covering my press trip expenses.  All thoughts and words are my own.

Did you see Delivery Man this weekend?  If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!  I had a chance to attend the Delivery Man red carpet premiere and I can honestly say I was such a fan of the movie (you can read my Delivery Man review to get my thoughts).

While we were in L.A. we interviewed Vince Vaughn.  We also had the chance to interview Cobie Smulders (Emma) and Chris Pratt (Brett) from the movie, too!  I was pretty excited that we were going to be speaking to both of them together. Continue reading »
