Recently I had the opportunity to participate in an Abigail Spencer interview.  That interview and this post are a partnership with the Role Mommy Writer’s Network.  During the interview we talked about lots of things, including her new show Timeless on NBC.

Abigail Spencer stars in Timeless. Find out one of her favorite parts about being in Timeless in my Abigail Spencer interview!

If you’re not familiar with Timeless, it airs on NBC at 10pm EST.  It’s about a team of unlikely heroes – including Lucy, a history professor, her bodyguard, a soldier named Wyatt, and Rufus, a scientist – that are trying to capture criminal mastermind Garcia Flynn.  Flynn has stolen an experimental time machine and is trying to rewrite American history through it’s use. I am a member of the Everywhere Society and Everywhere Agency has sponsored this post on Johnny Iuzzini and Macy’s. All thoughts and words are my own.

This past weekend was the Kentucky Derby, which is held right here in town. The Derby is a huge event in and of itself, but the entire city parties for at least a couple of weeks ahead of time. Celebrities roll in, charity events are held, and there are lots of associated things to do, also.

Chef Johnny Iuzzini, Macy's Culinary Council

So when I heard that one of the events would be a cooking demo at our local Macy’s, conducted by Johnny Iuzzini, one of their Culinary Council members, I was pretty excited.  When I found out that I’d also get a few minutes before the demo to interview him, I was even more excited.  I’ve been a fan of Chef Iuzzini’s work for quite a long time and I was interested to see what he would have to say. Over the weekend I had the opportunity to attend a virtual hangout with Katherine Heigl and Will Arnett, the voices behind two characters in the upcoming movie The Nut Job.  Just another Saturday afternoon, right?  They popped in after the L.A. premiere to talk with us about the film, being parents, and more.

The Nut Job's Andie (Katherine Heigl) and Surly (Will Arnett) #TheNutJob

In animated 3D, The Nut Job is set in fictional Oakton and follows Surly (voiced by Will Arnett), a mischievous purple squirrel.  After a hot dog stand heist by Grayson (voiced by Brendan Fraser) and Andie (voiced by Katherine Heigl) goes wrong, Surly is banished from the park by Raccoon (voiced by Liam Neeson).  With the help of his rat friend Buddy (voiced by Robert Tinkler), Surly plans a nut store heist of epic proportions. Thank you to Disney for covering my press trip expenses.  All thoughts and words are my own.

Did you see Delivery Man this weekend?  If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!  I had a chance to attend the Delivery Man red carpet premiere and I can honestly say I was such a fan of the movie (you can read my Delivery Man review to get my thoughts).

While we were in L.A. we interviewed Vince Vaughn.  We also had the chance to interview Cobie Smulders (Emma) and Chris Pratt (Brett) from the movie, too!  I was pretty excited that we were going to be speaking to both of them together. Continue reading »

Thank you to Disney for covering my press trip expenses.  All thoughts and words are my own.

While visiting Disney Toon Studios on our press trip we had the amazing opportunity to speak with Planes Director Klay Hall and Producer Traci Balthazor-Flynn.  We did a number of awesome things during our trip, but this was definitely one of the highlights.  Not only was Disney Toon Studios a cool place to be, but hearing the passion Klay and Traci had for the film was beyond inspiring.
