Thank you to The Beatrix Girls for sending Lark to live with us. All words and opinions are my own.

Earlier this week I mentioned that I had the opportunity to attend Sweet Suite while in Chicago.  There were tons of great toy companies, some well-known that have been around for years and others that are just being introduced for the first time.  One of the new companies – a company that I expect you’ll be hearing a lot of in the next few months – was the PopStar Club.

The Beatrix Girls Dolls - Lark & Brayden

PopStar Club is the maker of a new line of collectible 12″ pop star dolls called The Beatrix Girls.  The girls – Lark, Ainsley, Brayden, and Chantal – are all members of the same band.  What sets them apart from other similarly-themed dolls is that these gals create actual music that your kids can download.  Each band member also has a full background story.  You can visit the Beatrix Girls website and find out their favorite foods, colors, where they’re each from, and more. If you read a lot of blogs you may have heard a common locale mentioned recently: Chicago.  Bloggers from all over the world (literally, from as far away as Australia!) recently descended on the Windy City for a chance to meet up, have some fun, and learn a few things.  I’ve always wanted to attend and this year I was lucky enough to join them.

I was also lucky enough to attend what has been labeled the Biggest Night of Play and shortly you’ll see why.  Sweet Suite is hosted by http://www.TheBigToyBook.com, Joey Fortman from RealMomMedia.com & Charlene DeLoach from CharleneChronicles.com and is an opportunity for bloggers to see some of the hottest toys available, as well as some that are on the horizon.  And not only did we get to see the toys, we were able to play with the toys, too.  Yup, that’s right – hundreds of adults walking around, building with blocks, playing video games, and squeeing like kids on Christmas morning (I may have done a bit of squeeing, myself).

Just because it’s summer break, that doesn’t mean that learning stops.  PBS KIDS want to make continued learning easy for you and your family this summer.  To help with that, they have made available four new DVDs starring some of their most well-loved characters.

PBS KIDS Dinosaur Train: Nature Trackers DVD

In Dinosaur Train: Nature Trackers we were able to join Buddy, Tiny, Shiny, and Don as they traveled on the Dinosaur Train and learned about everything from stargazing to gardening.  If your child loves everything related to the outdoors they will love this DVD. Continue reading »

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Polly Pocket.  I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.  All opinions are my own.

Growing up I didn’t play with a ton of dolls, but I do remember having a few Polly Pocket toys.  I love that it’s a brand that’s still around today so Bubbles will have the fun of playing with them, also.  Sharing with her the favorite activities and products of my own childhood has been one of my favorite parts of toddler-hood.  It’s fun to see where our interests cross and diverge.

Polly Pocket Polly Fashion Collection #PollyPocket

The Polly Pocket Fashion Collections are one of her favorites.  The outfits are made from this very stretchy material which lets her easily change their clothes, showing off her creative toddler fashions.  They’re also super-portable so my aspiring fashonista can play with them wherever we go.  It’s fun to listen to her choose Polly’s next outfit and adventure.  I’ll hear “purple dress first… blue boots next… purse…  Now we go swimming!” Continue reading »
