The newest poster for Monsters University is out and I’ll be honest – it’s getting me even more excited! The lettermen’s jackets that they are wearing are the same colors as my school colors! Seeing Mike and Sulley – two of my all-time favorite Disney*Pixar characters – in their “cool dude” pose with their school gear definitely brings me back.

Monsters, Inc. is a movie I could watch every day! If you’ve never seen it, or if you missed it the first time it was in theaters, your second chance is coming soon! Monsters, Inc. will return to theaters shown in 3D on December 19th. We definitely have plans to go. We need a big-screen experience to tide us over until the June 21st release of Monsters University!

Yesterday we saw a commercial for Men In Black 3 on television. It was fun to be able to say “Hey, I already saw that!” – and to not even be talking about leaving the house! You may remember me sharing with you that Men In Black 3 will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on November 30th but by pre-ordering our copy from Walmart and then registering it online, we received an advanced digital copy to watch on November 16th. We’ve watched the movie twice already. The first time, my husband and I watched it together to decide which family members it was appropriate for. I’m glad we took the time to do so; the first few minutes of the film were a little too high on the “ick” factor to let Bubbles watch from the start. But after a couple of initial scenes, it was mostly humor and learning about Agent K’s back-story. Continue reading »

The DreamWorks Pictures’ Lincoln movie opens nationwide on Friday! We’re hoping to have a date night and see it at some point over the Thanksgiving holiday week (A1 will be home from college, so free babysitter!). I’ve been catching trailers for it on TV all this week and it’s getting me very excited. You can see the cast photo from the world premiere below. Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Opened #1!

For all those who went and saw Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph on the opening weekend – thank you for supporting Disney and such a great movie. Thanks to you, Wreck-It Ralph opened #1 at the box office with $49 million – the largest opening in Walt Disney Animation Studio’s history! The movie continues to collect accolades from critics, and everyone that I’ve spoken to that saw it has said they loved it. I know the music makes me want to sing along every time I hear a commercial for it.

I mentioned the other day that A2 broke his finger and had to have surgery last week. There isn’t a whole lot on TV on Friday nights, so while I was picking up a few things at the store, I decided to wander through the DVDs and Blu-Rays to see if there were any new releases that everyone might enjoy. Normally if I knew he was going to be laid up for a couple of days I’d be looking at video games, but with the contraption they have his hand wrapped up in, video games are out of the question for the next little while.
