Thank you to Disney for providing trip expenses to Disney’s Toon Studios during National Aviation Month.  All thoughts and words are my own.

One of my favorite parts of our Disney trip was a visit to the Disney Toon Studios.  I love behind-the-scenes and making-of kind of features – I’m one of those people that actually watches all the extras on DVDs and Blu-rays.  So getting a “behind the screen peek”, so to speak, of Disney’s Planes during National Aviation Month was pretty cool.

While we were there we spoke to Jason McKinley and Thomas Leavitt, two guys who worked on Planes in Pre-Vis Development.  Jason McKinley was the actual Flight Supervisor for Planes.  And why would you need a Flight Supervisor?  Because, as Jason put it, “Flying is really, really hard.”  They were having difficulty with realistically the movement of the planes, so they created a team that was dedicated solely to flight. Thank you to Disney/Marvel for covering my expenses so I could participate in the Tom Hiddleston interview. All words and opinions are my own.

I have to say that one of the highlights for me of our trip to L.A. was the round-table interviews.  It’s a great opportunity to see what the person behind some of your favorite characters is actually like.  And in this case, that person was Tom Hiddleston and the character was Loki.

Let me just start by saying that Tom Hiddleston is amazing.  From the moment he walked in, to the moment he walked out, he was charismatic and engaging.  He was also extremely funny.  In fact, as he sat down at the table in front of the room to introduce himself at the Thor: The Dark World bad guy Loki, he said “…um, I feel like I should be sitting here with a white cat and stroking it.” Continue reading »

I received a copy of Monsters University in order to facilitate my review.  All thoughts and words are my own.

One of my favorite movies from Disney and Pixar in the past few years is Monsters, Inc.  They put together a great cast of characters that include the lovable Sulley, the little-bit-high-strung-yet-funny Mike, and the adorable Boo.  And while Roz wasn’t on screen much, her lines made me laugh every single time.

So I was extremely excited when I hear that Disney/Pixar was going to release a prequel to Monsters, Inc. called Monsters University.  Most movie franchises go right to the sequel so I immediately liked that they were taking a different path.  Plus I’ve always wanted a little more of the back story, as Mike and Sulley seemed somewhat unlikely friends.

Just before heading to the L.A. premieres of two other Disney movies my family and I sat down to watch Monsters U together.  Bubbles had already seen Monsters, Inc. a few times and we suspected that she’d be a fan of the new installment, also.  And of course, she was; she sat down and watched the entire thing from start to finish with us.

Thank you to Disney for covering my expenses so that I could attend the premiere at the El Capitan Theatre and share my Thor The Dark World review with you.  All words and thoughts are my own.

Yesterday I shared with you my photos and experiences from attending the Delivery Man premiere at the El Capitan Theatre.  To have had that experience just once would have been amazing!  But we were fortunate enough to experience two red carpet events: Delivery Man and Thor: The Dark World.

My Thor The Dark World Review & Red Carpet Experience #ThorDarkWorldEvent

I felt a bit more like a pro the second night, as I knew more what to expect.  It gave me the chance to take more in and look around more.  Looking around more let me realize – um, wow, I just walked behind Anthony Hopkins (who plays Odin).  Because, you know, no one knows him, right? Thank you to Disney for covering all my expenses to attend the Delivery Man red carpet premiere. All words and opinions are my own.

Phew!  I just returned from my trip to L.A. and to say that I’ve had a whirlwind few days would be an understatement.  I have so much to share with you all over the next few days, but I wanted to start with one of what was to be many amazing #DeliveryManEvent experiences – the Delivery Man red carpet premiere.

Delivery Man Red Carpet Premiere at the El Capitan Theatre #DeliveryManEvent

It was really kind of a surreal experience.  The El Capitan Theatre where the premiere was held was right across the street from our hotel- the amazing Loews Hollywood Hotel – so when we stepped outside, we were immediately surrounded by lights and people.  Delivery Man was highlighted on the marquee, and the air was full of energy.
