I am a member of the Collective Bias #cbias Social Fabric Community.  This is a #FamilyMobileSaves sponsored post on adding a line to the Walmart Family Mobile unlimited plans. All words and opinions are my own.

A few weeks ago I shared with you that my family was on the lookout to find more affordable mobile unlimited plans.  That’s when I first introduced you to Walmart Family Mobile.  A bit after that I followed up to let you know how we liked the plan and whether or not we were saving money with the new service we had tested.

We have a few more months to go on our contract (Walmart Family Mobile has no contract – yay!) so unfortunately we can’t ditch them completely just yet.  But after seeing such a large savings paired with consistently good service we decided to keep the new line I activated for a pretty specific reason.  That reason is my Mom. I received a FabFitFun subscription box in order to facilitate my review.  No other compensation was received; all words and opinions are my own.

A week or two ago I shared with you my love of subscription boxes.  I might go so far as to say that subscription boxes are one of my favorite retail introductions of this decade.  Technically, I guess they’re not an entirely new concept.  Lots of companies have always sold mystery boxes, but this second-generation concept helps put a much finer point on what you’re going to receive.  Snacks, kids crafts, gluten-free foods, jewelry, beauty – they’re all available.

And it’s a beauty and health box that I wanted to introduce you to today.  The FabFitFun box is curated by Giuliana Rancic.  If you’re not familiar with Giuliana, she’s a co-host of E! News and Fashion Police, as well as Miss USA and Miss Universe contests.  She and her husband Bill also star in the reality show “Giuliana and Bill”. Continue reading »

Thank you to Bertolli for providing the olive oil used to make my Parmesan Roasted Asparagus recipe.  All words and thoughts are my own.

Up until the past few years, I was convinced that I didn’t like asparagus.  Granted, I couldn’t ever remember actually trying asparagus, but that doesn’t really matter, right?  You’re allowed to know what foods you’ll like and won’t like just by looking at them.  Aren’t you?

Then a few years ago we were at our local farmer’s market in Florida and lo and behold there was a whole stand of asparagus that day.  Hubby wasn’t really sure if he liked asparagus, either, but we are always looking for a new side to pair with our proteins, so we decided to go for it.  I consulted with the attendant at the market to get her thoughts on what makes “good” asparagus, and we took a bunch home.

That night we just roasted it (again on the suggestion of the girl from the farmer’s market) and we both were surprised to find just how much we liked it.  Through a little trial and error, I ended up with this recipe for Parmesan Roasted Asparagus. Continue reading »

This is a partnered post on behalf of Tech Time Out.  All words and opinions are my own.

There’s no doubt that tech devices are pretty much cemented as part of our daily lives.  People text, Tweet, and Facebook status-update 24 hours a day.  Video games are no longer just PC or console based; they’re at your smartphone fingertips.  And phone calls are almost a thing of the past with Skype and other face-talk programs on our phones and PCs.

I’m actually a huge supporter of using technology to it’s fullest.  My father took one of the first computer courses available at a local college when I was probably 4 years old.  I learned to make the screen change colors and play “music” by programming on the Commodore 64 he bought on which to practice (yes, I’m that old).  By the time I was in high school, I had my first webpage (anyone remember Geocities?), was teaching adult ed classes on how to use the Internet, and was working for my school’s computer-building start-up company.
