The second week of summer vacation Bubbles’ elementary school offered a week of “space camp”. They worked on a number of space-themed activities and projects, including DIY Galaxy Jars.
When we set out on our Kentucky to Maine road trip, her Galaxy Jar was placed in one of the backseat cup holders so she could continue to look at it. There were very few things she specifically asked to pack within reach for the trip, so I knew it was a winner DIY. Continue reading »

One of the things I love most about Disney movies is the music that accompanies them. It always plays such an integral role in the storytelling. Which is why Disney soundtracks and other Disney music CDs make up a good portion of my music library.
Recently I received an awesome mix of Disney music CDs that made the entire family happy. Bubbles was thrilled with the Frozen and Disney Junior CDs, hubby immediately snagged the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 (which I also love), and I was excited to get Into the Woods. Do you know what happens tomorrow? The stellar hit Guardians of the Galaxy will be released to the cosmos on DVD and Blu-ray. I’m especially excited because it’s the only Marvel movie we didn’t get a chance to see at the theater this year and I’m itching to be a little more in the know when it comes to Groot, the Star-Lord, and the rest of the group.
We may not have caught the movie yet but each of us already has a favorite part or line thanks to all of the trailers and teaser clips that have been shown. Like the famous Dancing Groot. Watching that led me to the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack, also known as “Awesome Mix Vol. 1” (yep, a mixed tape. Oh the awesome). Listen to a few of those songs and you’ll have no problem understanding why Groot needed to get his groove on. Continue reading »
So by now you’ve probably already heard that the highly-anticipated lineup of movies dubbed Marvel Phase 3 has been anounced. Apologies for not sharing this news sooner, it’s just been a little hectic lately!
I first found out about the announcement while we were driving home from the restaurant a couple of weeks ago. I am fairly certainly that the people driving next to us probably thought I was having a medical event, because I was bouncing around and gesturing wildly as I read the news on my phone (don’t worry, hubby was driving). I kept scrolling and scrolling – the lineup is massive – and punctuated what I was reading with an “Oh my gosh!” and “You’re not going to believe who is in this?!”. Continue reading »
