One of my all-time favorite Disney movies is The Lion King. The story, the songs, the animation – I just loved everything about it.

Hakuna Matata Taters - aka Loaded Tater Tots. The perfect companion to a Lion King movie night!

While Bubbles has watched a lot of The Lion Guard, she had never sat down to watch The Lion King with me. So when we received a copy of The Lion King Signature Edition on Blu-ray, I thought it was the perfect time to convince her to join me – especially when I added Timon & Pumba’s Hakuna Matata Taters to the mix.

This time of year I always seem to crave my grandmother’s cooking a little more than any other.  Fall is when we were working on the farm and she always made sure the kitchen was full of anything and everything you could possibly want to eat.

Best-ever corn fritters recipe from my Gram's kitchen to yours. They're extra yummy served with a little maple syrup for drizzling.

Fall is also the gateway to holiday cooking and baking.  That meant warm, hearty dinners and appetizers, cookies and brownies, fudge and donuts. Continue reading »

The Big Game is getting closer and we’re getting excited!  I’ve been getting stocked up on all the things we need to make some of our favorite game day recipes, like football deviled eggs.  Plus I’ve been making sure we have all our non-food supplies that we’ll need to make game day perfect.

Football Deviled Eggs Recipe and Game Day Traditions

Traditions are a big part of nearly every sport and football is definitely no different.  In fact, I think football fans might have some of the biggest game day traditions of them all.  What you wear, what you eat, where you watch the game – you have a certain pattern for it all.  Thanks to SheSpeaks/P&G for sponsoring this post so I can share mine with you!

Over the last few years I’ve shared a lot of tailgating and Big Game recipes with you all.  I married a football guy and he converted me to a football gal (though I do still like watching the commercials).  With the Big Game just around the corner I thought I’d share a little of what we’re working on this year.

Easy Game Day Appetizers and Party Ideas for the Big Game #PrepareToParty

When I entertain on game day I generally like to go cute but simple.  I want food my guests can enjoy without missing a play, so either something they can hold or something that they can snatch for a single bite before yelling at the TV (that does happen in other houses, right?). This shop and Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.

When we tailgate, I like to provide a lot of options.  Appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages – I want my family and friends to leave feeling like they couldn’t eat another thing even if they wanted to.  It’s a trait I picked up from my Gram, who always said “Your plate is looking a little empty” no matter how much was left on your plate.

Over the weekend, we were planning to watch a lot of football.  So of course I needed to plan a lot of food to go with it!  I decided to run to Meijer to pick up everything I needed for my Buffalo Chicken Dip (always a crowd-pleaser) and my Mom’s Ice Cream Dream Squares, one of my absolute favorite desserts.
