I received the Pinypon Ski Lodge and Snow Car in order to facilitate my review.  No additional compensation was received and all words and opinions are my own.

I grew up in Maine about five miles away from the local ski lodge and lifts.  I wouldn’t really call it a ski resort as there was no hotel involved, but you could ski, snowboard and even go snow tubing.  We certainly had enough snow to support it; we routinely received multiple feet of snow per winter.

Here in Kentucky, though, we don’t get snow like that – thankfully!  While I enjoy watching the snow fall and having snow for Christmas Eve and Christmas, I don’t miss the years when the snow would accumulate so high you could no longer see out the windows.  The one caveat to that is that I wish there was enough snow for Bubbles to enjoy, as playing in the snow as a child was always great fun.

Pinypon Ski Lodge & Snow Car and Tow

With the Pinypon Ski Lodge and Snow Adventure Car & Tow we can at least pretend to have outdoor play.  The Pinypon friends in these two sets can ski, go snowboarding, skate, build a snowman, go sledding and even ride a snow mobile.  And when they’re done their outdoor fun, they can head inside and get warm in the lodge. This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Rubbermaid Bento Organizers but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #HolidayBento http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

Are you done your holiday shopping yet?  Not me!  I feel so behind this year, because normally right about now I’m just crossing a stocking stuffer or two off my list to finish up, but this year I’m not even 50% done.

I found myself shopping at Target the other day, trying to knock a few things off of Ashley’s wish list.  She’s already secured a teaching job, so after graduation in the spring, she’ll be moving a few hours away where she’ll have her very first apartment.  Target gift cards were on her list as she knows they carry lots of great items for home decoration and storage plus items to stock her kitchen.

While wandering around the home department I came across the Rubbermaid Bento Organizers.  I was immediately drawn to their design; we have a chair with a similar pattern.  After taking a few minutes to examine them more closely, I was also impressed with the actual construction.  The interior pockets flex to accommodate the items, letting you create just the right size and shape compartments for what you’re storing. This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Havertys. The opinions and text are all mine.

Many of us will be hosting on at least one occasion during the holidays.  It’s a fun time of year; we get to spend time with friends and family that we may not otherwise see.  It’s also a very busy time filled with cooking, cleaning, planning, shopping, and more.

Here are a few entertaining tips and suggestions that work for us.  Hopefully they’ll help you save time and money, letting you focus more on your guests and their visit than the never-ending to-do list that comes with throwing a party. Continue reading »

I received Elf Magic Christmas Elf to help start a family Christmas tradition.  All thoughts and words are my own.

I think establishing family traditions is really important.  It’s something that bonds your family together and gives you situations you can look back on over time and recall together.  Growing up my parents provided us with lots of special family traditions, especially around the holidays.

Many of those traditions I’ll be continuing with my own family in years to come, but Bubbles is on the young side to understand or appreciate most of them.  I did think it would be fun to invite a Christmas Elf to visit us as a way to help her understand the Santa-side of Christmas.  When I saw the Elf Magic Elves I thought their soft, huggable bodies made them the best choice for introducing a Christmas Elf tradition to a toddler.

My family was invited to a screening in order for me to write my Disney Frozen review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

From the moment I saw the first previews, I knew that Disney’s Frozen was going to be a big hit.  And after having had the opportunity to see it with my family a couple of weeks ago, I’m calling that it will soon become a classic.  The animation, the songs, the story – it all adds up to amazing.

This was the second movie we had taken Bubbles to see at the theater but this was the first one she was able to stay and watch until the end.  Even after sitting in the theater for about thirty minutes prior to the movie starting, she happily sat in her seat for the whole thing, turning away from the screen only occasionally to share a laugh with me.  I don’t know how I had forgotten that it was going to be in 3D, but she opted not to wear her glasses and still enjoyed it.

Disney Frozen Review

At it’s center, Disney’s Frozen is about the relationship between sisters.  Princesses and sisters Anna and Elsa have always been so close, playing and having fun in their family’s castle.  Elsa has a special gift, the ability to create things from snow and ice.  Often the sisters would sneak downstairs while their parents slept and skate, slid, and play with the snowman named Olaf that Elsa brought to life for them.
