I received a Nenuco doll and cradle set in order to facilitate my review. No additional compensation was received; all thoughts and words are my own.

Bubbles has been a fan of dolls since she started playing with toys.  Before that, actually.  I received a soft-body baby doll as a shower gift and I would tuck it next to Bubbles when she was in her electric swing.  Sometimes she wouldn’t even settle in without it.

Last year for Christmas Bubbles received a stroller for her dolls and that completely excited her.  She’d load up a purse with a toy bottle and diaper and take her baby for “walks” around the house.  It was fun to see her play Mommy and learn about taking care of someone or something.

Nenuco Doll and Sleep With me Cradle Set

She was doing such a good job with the stroller and her improvised diaper bag that I thought maybe she would like a new way to take care of her babies.  Then I ran across the Nenuco Sleep With Me Cradle set.  We already were enjoying other products by the manufacturer, Famosa, so I thought we would probably enjoy this, also. I received the Pinypon Ski Lodge and Snow Car in order to facilitate my review.  No additional compensation was received and all words and opinions are my own.

I grew up in Maine about five miles away from the local ski lodge and lifts.  I wouldn’t really call it a ski resort as there was no hotel involved, but you could ski, snowboard and even go snow tubing.  We certainly had enough snow to support it; we routinely received multiple feet of snow per winter.

Here in Kentucky, though, we don’t get snow like that – thankfully!  While I enjoy watching the snow fall and having snow for Christmas Eve and Christmas, I don’t miss the years when the snow would accumulate so high you could no longer see out the windows.  The one caveat to that is that I wish there was enough snow for Bubbles to enjoy, as playing in the snow as a child was always great fun.

Pinypon Ski Lodge & Snow Car and Tow

With the Pinypon Ski Lodge and Snow Adventure Car & Tow we can at least pretend to have outdoor play.  The Pinypon friends in these two sets can ski, go snowboarding, skate, build a snowman, go sledding and even ride a snow mobile.  And when they’re done their outdoor fun, they can head inside and get warm in the lodge. Looking For Hot Toys For Christmas?

Melissa & Doug is a well-recognized name when it comes to toys for kids.  To help you with suggestions on what to buy all the littles in your life they have just announced their “Terrific Twenty” list of toys.  Check out the list: you’ll definitely find some hot toys for Christmas that your kids (and you!) would love to have.  Best part?  They’re also giving some away!

Top 20 Melissa & Doug hot toys for Christmas

Some of the top twenty are pictured above; visit their website for the entire list, which includes their popular Trunki, a train set with tunnel, and much more (I personally love the stamp set – am I too old to shop Melissa & Doug for myself?).  I think Bubbles would love that tea set pictured, or maybe the grocery basket set to use in her play kitchen.

You should also pop over to their Facebook page.  Their 20 Days of Terrific Twenty Giveaway starts today, and each day, they’ll be giving away one of their Terrific Twenty toys!  (Hint: keep checking back here – we’re going to be giving away one of the items, too!).

Which one of the Terrific Twenty items would you most like to win?

Over 30 years ago Ocean Music produced The Classic Nursery Rhymes Collection on VHS and it sold over a million copies!  For an old-school VHS, those are pretty significant numbers.  With newer technology, though, VCR players are nearly as rare in the home as a rotary telephone.

75 Easter Basket Filler Ideas

Filling Easter baskets is as fun for me as filling Christmas stockings – but it can also be a little stressful.  What do you buy to make each basket special for the recipient?  I’m always trying to come up with unique Easter basket filler ideas to keep up with the changing tastes of the kiddos as they reach different stages of their lives.  And at 20, 15, and 1, they’re not exactly all clamoring for the same things.

I do try and pick up a few things throughout the year as I see items they might like, and I also shop the after-Easter (and other holiday) sale at Target; last year I found quite a few things at 90% off.  Just remember to store the items somewhere you’ll remember them!  Nothing is worse than opening a package of Easter item scores when you’re putting up your Halloween decorations.

Easter Basket Filler Ideas – Ages 3 & Under

Since sometimes even the Easter Bunny needs a helping hand, here are some Easter basket filler ideas for a variety of ages.  Not all of the items are small enough to necessarily fit inside your basket (unless you’re using a really large basket), but I personally think that’s okay; we often had some wrapped gifts outside of our baskets when I was a kid.
