Have you ever reached for a drink just to wonder, “Is this mine?” It’s easy to happen, especially in the hustle and bustle of a game day party. They make those little charms for wine glasses so I thought I’d make my own version for bottles.

So, it’s March. And while March means lots of things – the onset of spring and my birthday, for example – it also means one other major event. College hoops tournament!
Now, here in Kentucky college basketball is a Really Big Deal. One of our colleges actually has the most wins over like the last five decades. People here live and breath it all season, but especially in March. Local businesses even close down and send employees home just to watch.
For me, it’s the perfect excuse to have friends and family over to watch the basketball games on TV. And because I love a theme, I’ve been putting together a few pizza party ideas to share with you all. Pizza is a convenient food to share with guests, plus it’s easy for everyone to eat while jumping up and down and cheering. Continue reading »
I can’t believe I’m typing this, but Bubbles turns 3-years-old this month. Seriously, I know the cliches about growing up so fast and how time flies – but it’s just so true. She’s more preschooler than toddler, and lets us know what a “big girl” she is on a regular basis.
Her birthday party will be this weekend, and when offered multiple choices on party themes she, unsurprisingly, chose Disney Planes. So this week I’ve been working on a few favors and supplies. I still need to finish up the party favors and treat bags, plus finalize my cake design. But I think I have all the table decorations and paper goods so not too much left to do.
Which is good, because Bubbles is super-excited about her party. She asks every morning if it’s her birthday yet, rattles off the guest list, and asks about her Disney Planes cake. She also has invited pretty much everyone at any store we’ve been to in the past two weeks. Continue reading »
This post on HoneyBaked Ham Catering for the big game is sponsored by HoneyBaked Ham. All words and opinions are my own.
If you remember back before the holidays, I told you about our family’s love for HoneyBaked Ham as a Christmas Eve staple. Granted, I’d happily eat it any day of the week, but that’s the occasion with which I’ve always associated it. But after spending time inside one of the local HoneyBaked Ham Cafes, I found that they offer a whole lot more.
In addition to being able to walk in and pick up a ham, I found that they also have whole and half turkey breast with that same delicious crunchy crackle. Growing up, all our holiday dinners always included both ham and turkey, so this was a good piece of information to learn. Now I can serve both to my guests, also, and only need to stop one place to pick them up. Continue reading »

The other day I was at the store browsing through the freezer case. We were planning for guests that would be coming over to watch football and my cart was already quite full with frozen foods. But then I spotted Nestle Crunch Dipped Drumsticks and decided I just had to make room.
I tucked them in my cart and finished my Walmart run. I had picked up some of our – and our guests’ – favorite foods for our get-together. Stouffer’s lasagna, Hot Pockets, DiGiorno pizza, and Edy’s ice cream. We would definitely have lots of yummy goodness for our party. Continue reading »
