Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue opens in just a couple of weeks (July 18th)! Bubbles is counting the days as much as I am; every time she sees a trailer or commercial on TV she jumps up and down and shouts “That’s the movie we’re going to see at the theater! The new Planes movie!”. So, clearly – we’re excited.

Free Activity Books: Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue Book #FireAndRescue

Today our friends at Disney sent over some awesome new Planes: Fire & Rescue themed activities. Everyone loves free activity books and sheets, and these will give the kiddos something to work on while they count the last few days until the movie’s release.  Download the Planes: Fire & Rescue Activity Book is available as part of a partnership between Smokey the Bear, National Parks, and the heroes from Planes: Fire & Rescue. You may have heard that there’s this little movie playing in theaters.  The one that dominated the box office last weekend.  The one with Angelina Jolie.

Angelina Jolie is Maleficent #Maleficent

The movie is Maleficent and I have heard nothing but amazing things about the film.  We have Austin & Ashley’s graduation party tomorrow, and Austin’s graduation itself on Sunday, but next week?  Next week will be a Maleficent movie date for hubby and I. Continue reading »

Disneynature Bears roars into theaters today and I’m so excited for a number of reasons.  First, growing up in rural Maine, I’ve seen my fair share of bears (as in, “Oh, look, guys.  There’s a bear in our yard.”) and I’m really looking forward to a movie dedicated to them in their natural environment.  I also have yet to be disappointed by a Disneynature film; the first four releases were Earth, Oceans, African Cats and Chimpanzee, and they all were gorgeous, engaging movies.

I also love that Disney has continued to invest so much in showcasing nature.  One one of my first visits to Walt Disney World in Florida, we had the chance to visit Discovery Island, which closed in 1999.  It was a zoological park where you could see animals in their natural environment, watch shows, etc. – kind of a precursor to the beautiful Animal Kingdom. The Muppets have always cracked me up.  I remember watching them with my Dad as a little kid, and the 3D show at Hollywood studios has always been one of my favorites.  Of course, Miss Piggy and Kermit are icons, but I also love Beaker, Animal, Sam the Eagle, and the Swedish Chef.

Ricky Gervais, Miss Piggy, and Kermit the Frog on the Muppets Most Wanted Soundtrack #MuppetsMostWanted

A bit ago I was invited to attend a screening for the new Disney Muppets Most Wanted.  Unfortunately, we weren’t able to attend but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing it once we have a chance to get to the theaters.  With hilarious stars like Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey, you really can’t miss. Marvel’s Captain American: The Winter Soldier is in theaters!  I’m looking forward to my husband and I being able to catch it the next time Ashley is home and takes Bubbles out for a play date.  Marvel movies have long been some of my favorites, and I have heard nothing but amazing things about The Winter Soldier.

Captain America and the Black Widow #CaptainAmerica The Winter Soldier

While I really do love all the Marvel characters, Captain America has always been one of my favorites.  He’s devoted to his country, does the right thing, and values those who feel the same.  Plus, let’s be honest, Chris Evans is easy on the eyes.  And Black Widow gets some screen time in this one, which I also like.
