One of the movies I’m very much looking forward to – Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day – will open on October 10th of this year.  I love the book, and I can’t wait to see Jennifer Garner and Steve Carell bring it to life on the big screen.

This X-Men: Days of Future Past movie post is sponsored by Global Influence. All words and opinions are my own.

The more commercials I see for X-Men Days of Future Past, the more excited I get.  We’ve always enjoyed the X-Men movies, and this one looks like it could top the others in terms of awesomeness.

And, let’s all be honest. Hugh Jackman.  Yes.

It opens on May 23rd, a few days after Ashley graduates, which means she should be home and available to babysit while hubby and I have a date night.  It’s been awhile since we’ve had the opportunity to catch a movie at the theater, just the two of us, so it will be a nice treat.

X-Men Days of Future Past Exclusive Axe Gift Pack with FREE #XMen Movie Poster

Before we head out to watch it, I’ll be stopping by Walgreens to pick up the X-Men: Days of Future Past Axe® gift pack with a free movie poster inside.  Both hubby and Austin like many of the Axe products, so it’s something we’d be buying, anyway.  Maybe gift packs for each of them for graduation and Father’s Day.  The free X-men poster will be a nice little bonus. I am a member of the Everywhere Society and Everywhere Agency has sponsored this post on Johnny Iuzzini and Macy’s. All thoughts and words are my own.

This past weekend was the Kentucky Derby, which is held right here in town. The Derby is a huge event in and of itself, but the entire city parties for at least a couple of weeks ahead of time. Celebrities roll in, charity events are held, and there are lots of associated things to do, also.

Chef Johnny Iuzzini, Macy's Culinary Council

So when I heard that one of the events would be a cooking demo at our local Macy’s, conducted by Johnny Iuzzini, one of their Culinary Council members, I was pretty excited.  When I found out that I’d also get a few minutes before the demo to interview him, I was even more excited.  I’ve been a fan of Chef Iuzzini’s work for quite a long time and I was interested to see what he would have to say. I was an RA (Resident Advisor) for three years during college.  One of my absolute favorite things to do was host DIY spa days (well, nights) for the girls on my floor.  I would order pizza, and then break out the nail polish, facial masks, foot soak, files, anything we needed for a night of pampering.

Tips for a DIY Spa Day #NewFavorites #shop

To this day, a mani-pedi is one of my absolute favorite ways to relax.  Making time for (and justifying the expense of) visiting a local just to get my nails painted isn’t something I do that often these days, but it doesn’t mean I want to give up the luxury of pretty nails.  So I’ve continued my tradition of DIY spa days in my own home. By now you likely know that for the last year or so my family has been using Walmart Family Mobile cell service.  We originally decided to try it out because of the low cost (which is now just $39.88 per month) for the unlimited talk, text and web.  With as much as we call and text back home, and with as much as I need to be connected on the go because of blogging, it just made financial sense.

Walmart #FamilyMobile Unlimited Talk Text and Web for $39.88 #shop

Last fall I shared that before we left to visit my family in Maine, we added a line to our plan and surprised my Mom with a phone.  She already called often to talk to Bubbles, and she’s even learned to text since then.  The data plan isn’t something she really uses, and if you find yourself in the same boat there is now also the option to get unlimited talk and text – without the data – for only $29.88 per month.  I love when companies give customers exactly what they want.
