If you’re looking for an easy treat to make for the kiddos (and big kiddos) for your New Year’s Eve celebration then I think you’ll love this.  These little s’mores kits are fast and easy to put together and are really quite adorable.  Make up a bunch, hand them out, and when they’re ready to eat them an adult can pop them into the microwave for a few seconds.

DIY New Year’s Eve S’Mores

2 pkgs (9 per pack) snowman-shaped Peeps
3 pkgs (6 bars each) mini Hershey bars
1 box graham crackers
Treat bags with ties or food-safe plastic baggies

Place two graham crackers inside a treat bag, resting them against the back of the bag.  In front of the crackers place one snowman-shaped marshmallow on the left and one mini chocolate bar on the right.  Tie the bags closed and you’re done!

These can be customized for any holiday or special occasion.  I had wanted to make some for Christmas with the reindeer Peeps I bought but I ran out of time.  They have tons of shapes now or you could make homemade marshmallows and use cookie cutters to get the perfect shape for your event.

The new year is just around the corner and it’s the perfect time to get – and stay! – organized.  Over the next year I’ll be bringing you articles filled with organizing tips, cleaning plans, lists, printables, and more in an effort to help you be on top of your game.  It’ll be a good way for me to make sure that we’re staying organized, too!

Holiday Decoration Storage Tips For Organizing Your Holiday Decor

To kick off your holiday decoration storage and organization, start by taking advantage of these after-Christmas sales and stock up on plastic storage bins.  Walmart and Target (as well as other places, I’m sure) generally discount them more at this time of year than any other.  Try to pick up a few in different colors.  That way you can color-code your storage and make things easier to find. Trying to keep on top of your own appointments, to-do lists, and other required activities can be hard enough.  Keeping yourself organized plus keeping the entire family’s schedules straight – that can be hugely stressful!  One is going to piano lessons, another is heading to basketball practice; Mom has a doctor’s appointment, Dad has to make dinner.  Plus the baby will need a few feedings and diaper changes in there.  But who’s counting, right?

Decorating for holidays is one of my favorite things to do, and while Christmas decorations get me most excited, I do like to dress things up for Thanksgiving, too!  I had planned to spend some time tomorrow making a few treats for the Thanksgiving table we’ll be dining on.  However we need to take A2 for a follow-up appointment for his broken finger, so tonight will be my crafty night.  Nothing like the last minute, right?

Here are ten Thanksgiving craft and decorating ideas for you to wow your family this year.  I might be making a few, myself!

Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Opened #1!

Disney's "Wreck-It Ralph" Movie - #1 Opening Weekend

For all those who went and saw Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph on the opening weekend – thank you for supporting Disney and such a great movie.  Thanks to you, Wreck-It Ralph opened #1 at the box office with $49 million – the largest opening in Walt Disney Animation Studio’s history!  The movie continues to collect accolades from critics, and everyone that I’ve spoken to that saw it has said they loved it.  I know the music makes me want to sing along every time I hear a commercial for it.

If you have loved the nostalgic feel of the games, or if you want to share something fun from your childhood with your kiddos, you’ll love this free printable build your own mini “Fix It Felix Jr.” game cabinet!  I remember spending many an hour in arcades (which are almost as extinct as the rotary phone, sadly) playing games just like this one.  Click each image to open a larger, printable version.
