Baby’s First Christmas is always an exciting milestone.  Bubbles was ten months old for her first Christmas and treated us to the gift of her first steps on Christmas Day.  So I know that my brother and Abby must both be really looking forward to celebrating their first Christmas as parents.

Easy DIY Baby's First Christmas ornament + Christmas Stocking Ideas for Baby

We aren’t going to make it to Maine this year for Christmas (again. sadly) but I still wanted to do something a little special for Jayce.  A few years ago I made Sam & Abby a DIY Our First Christmas ornament using their wedding invitation.  I thought it might be fun to continue the ornament tradition and I decided to DIY a Baby’s First Christmas Ornament. This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of UPS for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

The holidays are all about wishes.  Some of them are tangible, like a specific gift you’re hoping to receive.  And others are more abstract, like peace on Earth and goodwill to men.

Bubbles and Santa at the Mall

The older I get – and especially since having a child – I find that my wishes fall into the latter category more often than not.  I wish to see her eyes light up during the holidays, for her to experience happiness, and for the memories we make to be with her always.  It’s a wish I share for all my family and friends. Bubbles hasn’t been feeling very well the past few days.  She feels a little bit like she’s missing out on all the Christmas festivities so I decided to put together a couple of fun activities that she could do while sitting.  In fact, she really doesn’t even have to get off the couch unless she feels like it.  The games I created are easy to play sitting, standing, or on the go.

Having fun with Disney Planes toys and Disney Planes-themed Christmas games (like a printable Christmas Word Search, and a matching game) #PlanesToTheRescue

I chose these two activities for another reason, too.  First, Bubbles has been very interested in learning how to spell and read lately so I thought a Christmas word search would be good practice.  And second, she loves to match and sort (everything in the house) and chocolate kisses are her favorite treat; I thought it would be fun to combine the two. The year I was born I became part of a very special family tradition.  That year my Grandmother gave me my first Hallmark Keepsake Ornament.  Each year after that I received a new one; some years she selected one for me, some years I was able to share a little input on my favorites.

Our family Christmas tree decorated with Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments

Fast forward 36 years and those ornaments – including that Baby’s First Christmas one – grace my tree.  And in addition to capturing special moments and interests from each year, that was the goal.  That by the time I (and later my brothers and cousins) grew up and moved out on our own we wouldn’t have a bare Christmas tree.
