Christmas is less than a month and a half away!  Over the weekend we put up our tree, decorated the house, and baked some cookies.  We also worked on some reindeer crafts, like a jingle bell reindeer necklace and cute DIY reindeer treat cups that look like Rudolph.

These Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Treat Cups are quick & easy to make! An entire collection of DIY reindeer can be on your table in just a few minutes.

We still have a long list of Christmas crafts that we have planned including some photo ornaments and possibly a DIY advent calendar.  But I wanted to share the tutorial for this easy mini clay pot Rudolph craft so you’d have time to pick up the clay pots. Continue reading »

Last week we celebrated Christmas in July with make-ahead Christmas projects, like my DIY Christmas coasters.  This week we’re continuing the party with holiday-inspired sweet treats and I have adorable Snowman Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes to share with you.

These Snowman Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes are perfect for winter, Christmas, or Christmas in July!

These Snowman Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes combine a couple of treats I’ve been wanting to make for a long while: ice cream cone cupcakes, and snowmen cupcakes.  I figured the nod to summer using the ice cream cones was especially perfect for Christmas in July. Continue reading »

Blue and silver is probably one of my favorite color combinations for Christmas.  I mean, I love the traditional green and red, too, but silver and blue just seem so classy.  Plus they’re an easy nod to all things winter, so you can extend the use of your decorations for a longer season.

"Bright", "Peace", "Hope" and "Joy" DIY Tile Coasters in silver & blue - perfect for Christmas!

I’ve had some white tiles kicking around in my craft stash that I knew I wanted to turn into coasters.  I just wasn’t exactly sure what kind of coasters. Continue reading »

There are a lot of times I’ve missed my Gram in the last year and a half since she passed, but this time of year it’s especially so.  Gram was all about Christmas and everything it entailed from making our own fresh wreaths in her barn to baking up fat stacks of cookies to deliver to friends and family to decorating her house from top to bottom.

Classic Candy Cane Cookies are the perfect sweet treat for the holidays

One of the cookies that she made every year were her Candy Cane Cookies.  They were probably my favorite holiday treat that she baked and she would bring them to our house by the dozen.  I’m pretty sure there may have been times I ate them by the dozen, too. Continue reading »

This shop and my suggestions for preschool toys to donate has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BIGDeal #CollectiveBias

I’ve always felt it was important to teach Bubbles to have a kind and giving heart.  Small acts of kindness go a long way in this world, and I want her to think of others and not just herself.  I also want her to know the joy of brightening someone else’s day.

If you need ideas for preschool toys to donate, here are 5 great options!

As a family, we shop every year for gifts that we’ll donate to the various toy drives and angel trees in town.  Friends and family often comment that they would like to do something similar, but had two concerns in common.  One was the cost of giving during an already expensive time of year (and during an already tough economic climate) and the other was a lack of knowledge in what kids might like.
