I can’t believe there are just two more days before I head to L.A. for the Thor: The Dark World red carpet premiere.  (As I write that, the lyrics, “Lea-ving, on a jet plane” popped into my head and will likely be there for hours.)  There’s some fun new Thor: The Dark World information I want to share with you before I get lost in packing, though.

Thor: The Dark World London Premiere

Thor: The Dark World recently had it’s London Premiere.  These two photos from that event will give you an idea of what we can expect to see at the L.A. Premiere!  Doesn’t Tom Hiddleston (who plays Loki and whom we will be interviewing) seem like such an awesome guy?

Thank you to Disney for providing us with a copy of Phineas and Ferb Mission Marvel in order to facilitate my review.  All words and opinions are 100% my own.

When you take two separate things and combine them together, it can either be really good or really bad.  Oil and water, they don’t mix so well.  A twist cone of soft serve vanilla and chocolate, those combine pretty well.  And when you take Phineas and Ferb and add in the Marvel Universe, well, that’s just good times.

And that’s exactly what has happened in the new DVD Phineas and Ferb Mission Marvel.  Some of the Marvel super heroes suddenly find themselves without their powers, and after calculating the source of the beam that hit them, they find the source to be Danville.  Apparently Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest scheme has had an unintended consequence and Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk find themselves teaming up with Phineas and Ferb to try and get their powers back. Lots of great kids movies (and some for adults, too!) in this week’s weekly entertainment roundup.  I have to say, the announcement of Second Screen Live for The Nightmare Before Christmas has us strongly considering a quick road trip to Tennessee.  It’s one of my favorite movies from when I was in high school and I think it would be cool to see it in conjunction with that technology.

Thank you to Disney for covering my trip expenses to allow me to attend this great event!  All words and opinions are my own.

Some days you wake up to happy surprises.  You find $5 in the pocket of the jeans you put on, your spouse filled your gas tank so you don’t have to stop on the way to work, maybe the person in front of you at the coffee shop pays for your latte.  And then there’s the surprise I woke up to the other day.

On that day, I opened an email that I had to read a couple of times to actually soak in.  I was being invited to travel to LA and attend the red carpet premiere of Thor: The Dark World (in theaters 11/8)!  Yep, that’s right – myself, along with 24 other bloggers, will soon be jumping on planes and heading to California.  The Avengers and all the stand-alone movies that support the characters is one of my all-time favorite franchises, so this is incredibly exciting for me.
