When I give gifts, I often like to give themed gifts.  Fortunately, much like the fun gift guides from Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, Best Buy has one for graduation, too!  The best part is that there are plenty of gifts under $50 to choose from. Continue reading »

This graduation gifts guide is brought to you by Microsoft and SocialMoms. All thoughts and words are my own.

Graduation season is in full swing and will run for the next couple of weeks. Having three graduates in our immediate family – Austin graduating from high school and Ashley graduating from college, and one of my brothers graduating from college, also – graduation gifts have certainly been on my mind.

All of our graduates are in different stages of life which can make it a little harder to come up with just the right gift.  If you’re in the same situation, I’ve put together a gift guide for you to hopefully make it a little easier for you!

Graduation Gift Ideas: Graduation Gifts for the College Bound

If your graduate is heading off to college, one of the first things they’ll need is a computer.  If you’re going this route, can I suggest a laptop?  When I was in college everyone was still mostly taking notes with a pen and paper, or the occasional voice recording stick, but now a lot of people like to just type them up on their laptop. This review and DIY Oatmeal Face Mask Recipe was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Dawn. I was provided the featured product free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

Spa days might be one of my favorite luxuries in life. I love leaving feeling refreshed and pampered, with a massage, my nails done, and some kind of skin treatment. The only problem, is that those moments can really add up, cost-wise.

So when I can find opportunities to pamper myself at home, I’m all about it. Like this DIY Oatmeal Face Mask recipe. Super easy to make with just three ingredients, and extremely low-cost, too! Continue reading »

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation in sharing how to choose a boat and other tips.

Some of my best summertime memories have included the water.  I remember my mother joking with me that I was born a fish because it didn’t matter if it was swimming, fishing in a local stream, sitting on the beach, white water rafting, or out on the lake.  I just wanted to be near water.

There wasn’t a lot of opportunity for the beach unless we were driving down to Old Orchard, which we did a few times each summer.  But there was a lot more opportunity for spending time on a lake.  My uncle’s family had a camp on a lake that we visited fairly regularly, and the family of one of my friends also had a camp on a different lake.

Boating This Summer? How to Choose a Boat and Tips for Renting #MC #DiscoverBoating

There was always a lot to do at camp – laying out in a hammock, fishing, cooking out.  And, of course, getting out on the lake.  I could stay out all day tubing, if given the chance. Continue reading »

Being my “favorite helper” has become a part-time job for Bubbles. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing, she wants to be right there with me. Which is fine with me!

One of her favorite ways to help is in the kitchen. Anything she can stir, pour, shake, roll, whatever – she wants to help do it. So when HABA offered to send over some of their adorable silicone molds for us to play with, I couldn’t say no.

Summer-Themed HABA Silicone Molds: Cake, Cupcakes, Popsicles, Ice Cubes

Bubbles practically squealed with delight when they showed up. Some of her favorite shapes were represented: princess crowns, flowers, sea creatures, and more. She immediately started giving me her suggestions on what we could make, including cakes, popsicles, maybe even molded ice cream. Continue reading »
