Spa days might be one of my favorite luxuries in life. I love leaving feeling refreshed and pampered, with a massage, my nails done, and some kind of skin treatment. The only problem, is that those moments can really add up, cost-wise.
So when I can find opportunities to pamper myself at home, I’m all about it. Like this DIY Oatmeal Face Mask recipe. Super easy to make with just three ingredients, and extremely low-cost, too!
DIY Oatmeal Face Mask Recipe
1 T ground oatmeal
1 tsp milk
1/2 ripe banana, mashed
In a small bowl, use a muddler to grind your oatmeal into a finer powder (you could probably use a food processor, too). In a separate small bowl, mash one half of a ripe banana until smooth. Add in a the milk and your ground oatmeal, and mix well.
Wash your face with lukewarm water, then lightly pat dry. Use a circular motion to rub the mask onto your skin, leaving a somewhat thick layer. Leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Splash your face with cold water to close your pores and pat skin dry a final time.
For anyone that’s ever tried to wash a bowl that had oatmeal in it, you know it can be kind of a pain to try and get clean. So I was glad to have a bottle of Dawn Hand Renewal dish detergent. Not only does it soften hands, but it powers away grease, leaving dishes sparkling clean.
And really, why can’t doing dishes be a little bit of a luxury? With scents like Pomegranate Splash and Cucumber & Melon, it’s practically an aromatherapy session! And you will actually notice a difference in the softness of your skin in just a few uses.
I’d love to give you a moment of luxury this summer, too. So I have a fun prize pack for you. One winner will receive:
- Dawn Hand Renewal
- Hand towel

- Mixing bowl

My favorite luxury in the Summer is to go to a big Waterpark by where I live and spend the day riding on the rides, eating lunch and swimming at the big water rides.
