This post on fall fashion is sponsored by Meijer.  All words and opinions – and fashion sense – are my own.

Fall is here and that means colder temperatures.  After months of being in the 80s and 90s, it’s actually supposed to be pretty cold here the next few days.  That means it’s time to think about putting away the t-shirts and flip-flops and digging out the sweaters and boots.

As much as I love my flip-flops – and I do love my flip-flops – I look forward to switching out my wardrobe and moving into comfy, cozy fall fashions.  Not only do clothes get cozier in material and style, but the color palate changes, too.  As the leaves change more earthy tones seem to abound and I get to wear some of my favorite colors: chocolate browns, cranberry, burnt orange, and others.

I think I’m probably a lot like most women, especially those of us who don’t have a trust fund, in that I keep my closet filled with a lot of basics that are easy to mix and match.  But I do like to add a couple of pieces and a few accessories each season to help me keep current with the trends.  I don’t want it to break the bank, though, so I keep my eyes peeled for great sales on quality items and shop for great accessories at places with great prices to match.  Places like Meijer!

Meijer 2013 Fall Fashion Lookbook #MeijerStyle

Before moving to Kentucky I had never even heard of Meijer.  Once I shopped there a couple of times, though, I was hooked.  They have a large, well-stocked grocery section paired with pretty much anything else you could want – toys, seasonal merchandise, pet supplies, and of course clothes and accessories. I’m a Superior Source Brand Ambassador.  I received products and compensation, however all words and opinions are 100% my own.  I am not a doctor and make no health or diagnosis claims.

I’ve been taking B12 in vitamin format for about 6 years now.  My doctor at the time gave me a B12 injection when she noticed my numbers were low, and it gave me so much extra energy that I decided to keep taking it.  I’ve always taken the sublingual version; it’s just so much more convenient than swallowing a pill.

So when Superior Source approached me about partnering with them as a Brand Ambassador, I thought it was a great fit.  They’ve been providing MicroLingual vitamins and supplements for over 40 years.  Even smaller than a sublingual option, MicroLingual tablets are soft molded instant release tablets that are held under the tongue.  And when I say smaller – I mean a lot smaller.  These tiny tablets are approximately 1/10 the size and weight of an equivalent standard swallowed tablet.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for McCain Foods.  I received a sample of McCain Potato Smiles to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

I know that if I were to play a game of word association with you all, and I said “potato”, most of you would probably say “Idaho”.  But I’d say “Maine”, especially considering that I grew up with both of my parents coming from potato-farming families.  And while they might not be the largest producer in the country, I personally think they produce some of the best-tasting potatoes.

Suffice to say this has made me a bit of a potato “snob”.  I agonize in the produce section of the grocery store.  Often what they pass off as a baking potato – sunburned (when they’re green), dinged, bruised, and scaly – makes me want to call home and ask my parents to ship me a 50 pound bag to get us through for a bit.

McCain Potato Smiles - Natural Ingredients, Delicious Taste!

One place that I don’t worry about the quality is in a bag of McCain Potatoes.  They are the frozen french fries, tater tots, and other goodies that I grew up eating.  It didn’t hurt that McCain’s had a potato processing plant not too far from my hometown.  We loved being able to support companies that supported our area, and it’s so much easier when the product is so awesome. I received a copy of Lala-Oopsies A Sew Magical Tale in order to facilitate my review.  No additional compensation was received and all words and opinions are my own.

There are some interesting new additions to the world of Lalaoopsy!  If your kiddos are fans of the original, then they’re likely to enjoy this new adventure, also.  And if you’ve never heard of the rag doll-esque characters, that’s okay!  You don’t need to have watched the original Lalaloopsies to enjoy Lala-Oopsies: A Sew Magical Tale.

Lala-Oopsies A Sew Magical Tale The Movie - Now on DVD

This new DVD introduces a new group of princess ballerinas, fairies and mermaids – the Lala-Oopsies, based on the line of toys with the same name.  Some of the new characters include: Continue reading »

Thank you to Gooseberry Patch for providing us with a copy of the new 101 Stovetop Suppers cookbook which inspired this spaghetti with homemade meatballs recipe.

I’ve mentioned before that spaghetti is one meal that we have fairly regularly.  It’s hard to get tired of noodles covered in delicious sauce, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, and paired with some garlic bread.  I’m not sure if spaghetti is considered a comfort food, but if it’s not, it absolutely should be.

I do usually brown some ground beef or turkey to add to the sauce, and occasionally I’ve even picked up a bag of frozen meatballs to warm up in the sauce.  But for some reason, I don’t recall ever making homemade meatballs specifically for spaghetti.  I’ve made them plenty of times as part of my Mom’s German Meatballs recipe, but that’s it.
