We only live a short distance away from Bubbles’ school so I drop her off in the mornings and pick her up at night.  By the time she gets to the car it’s around 3:50 and the door barely closes behind her when she asks for a snack.

Bubbles has always been a little bit of a slow eater, and they don’t get a lot of time for lunch at school.  There have been plenty of times she’s got in the car and said she only had time to eat part of her meal.  And as she doesn’t get hungry so much as she gets hangry, I’ve learned to keep snacks with me at pretty much all times. I’m sure you’ve seen those commercials about “You’re not you when you’re hungry”.  Around here we refer to that as being hangry, and let me tell you – hangry is real.  Like, tears-for-no-reason, wearing-your-heart-on-your-sleeve kind of real.

You wouldn't like me when I'm hungry (or hangry). So feed me a SNICKERS®! #WhenImHungry

I’ve always carried snacks and drinks for Bubbles, either in my bag or in hers.  One day as I handed her a fruit pouch while stuck in a particularly long line, I wondered why I didn’t have any snacks of my own.  I certainly could have used a little something to sooth the beast at that particular moment. I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for Jif To Go Dippers. I received a sample to facilitate my review and a thank you item for participating.

We have been on-the-go quite a bit lately.  Road trips, day trips, shopping, corn mazes and pumpkin patch visits.  And while it’s a lot of fun, preparing and packing for excursions that include a 3-year-old can definitely take a little bit of pre-planning.

I have a “Preschooler Bag” (anyone have a better name for a diaper bag for preschoolers?  I’d love to hear it) that I like to keep stocked with whatever we might need: wipes, sunscreen, an extra outfit, books, crayons, small toys, etc.  And let’s not forget the snacks.  Snacks can make or break an outing, especially if any of your family members have a tendency to get “hangry”. Bubbles has become a huge fan of My Little Pony in the last few months.  We generally watch an episode or two in the mornings together, often while playing along with a couple of her My Little Pony figurines.

The My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episodes are a little different than the ones I vaguely remember watching as a kid myself.  The colors are more vivid, the animation is more defined.  But what hasn’t changed are the sweet lessons the show imparts.

My Little Pony: The Complete Series DVD Set

When I found out that My Little Pony: The Complete Collection (the classic TV shows) is coming to DVD on September 30th, I was pretty excited.  Now Bubbles can see the same episodes I did when I was younger.  And because I was offered a free review copy, she’s already had the chance to enjoy a few of them. The other day I was shopping at Sam’s Club and I saw something interesting in the freezer case.  Pretzel-Crusted Mozzarella Sticks.  They sounded amazing and I wondered why on Earth no one had thought of them before.

I knew our freezer was packed full, so instead I just took a picture of the box to remind me of them for later.  (Am I the only weirdo that does that?  I’m always taking pictures of things I want to try later or look up review of online.)  When I got home I was talking to hubby about them and then it dawned on me: why don’t I just make my own?

And so I did.  They are really easy to make and there’s a good chance that you have most, if not all, the ingredients already on hand.  Not counting freezing time they take less than 15 minutes to make so you can be munching on ooey, gooey melted cheese with a bit of a crunchy, salty exterior in no time flat.
