Over the weekend I spent some time working on more of my menu for game day.  When I’m trying something new, or even just a variation on something I make often, I like to give them a trial run to ensure they work out the way I think they will.  No one around here minds needing to eat some of the same things twice, I promise.

Game Day Recipes: Butterfingers Peanut Butter Cups Minis trifle recipe & milkshake shooters with DiGiorno Cheese Stuffed Crust 5 Cheese Pizza #GameTimeMVP

I’ve been kind of loving the ButterFinger Peanut Butter Cups since they came out, and when I saw the new ButterFinger Peanut Butter Cups Minis at Walmart not that long ago an idea started to form.  My Mom makes an amazing chocolate trifle with crushed up candy bars.  I thought it would be perfect to replace the candy bars with chopped up ButterFinger Peanut Butter Cups Minis so I picked up a bag to bake with (as well as a smaller bag to snack on). Bubbles has been asking me for the last few days if it was Valentine’s Day yet.  In order to smooth the transition after Christmas, I kind of talked up Valentine’s Day and how it wasn’t that far away, and that how after Valentine’s Day it would be her birthday.  No need to be sad about taking down the Christmas tree, because we had two other reasons to decorate.

White Chocolate Candy Valentine Hearts are an easy Valentine's treat that you can make to keep or give as gifts. Only 2 ingredients and easy enough to make that your kiddos can help or make on their own!

So far she’s colored a number of construction paper hearts which she then taped to the inside of the front door.  After assessing her work she suggested that I should probably pick up a few more decorations the next time I was at the store.  Thanks to the Target Dollar Spot we now have a few other items up, too. I received an Avalon Bay Air Fryer for the purpose of this review. This post was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.

I kind of love fried foods.  Don’t you?  I’m not sure if it’s because I grew up in Maine where we always had plenty of potatoes which meant lots of homemade french fries, or what, but that crispy outside with the warm, soft inside – yeah.  It’s good.

I don’t always love the extra calories that come with frying, though.  Many of you may be in the same boat, especially since this time of year a lot of people are recommitting to their health and healthy eating.  Which may mean you’ve sworn off fries, chips, mozzarella sticks, fried fish, or a number of other things. Over the last few years I’ve shared a lot of tailgating and Big Game recipes with you all.  I married a football guy and he converted me to a football gal (though I do still like watching the commercials).  With the Big Game just around the corner I thought I’d share a little of what we’re working on this year.

Easy Game Day Appetizers and Party Ideas for the Big Game #PrepareToParty

When I entertain on game day I generally like to go cute but simple.  I want food my guests can enjoy without missing a play, so either something they can hold or something that they can snatch for a single bite before yelling at the TV (that does happen in other houses, right?). S’mores are one of those things that most everyone looks forward to in the summer.  Even my husband, who isn’t a big fan of marshmallows, likes them.  But why limit yourself to enjoying the chocolate/marshmallow/graham cracker combination just one season per year?

S'mores Trail Mix Recipe

Well, you could of course move to a warmer weather location where a campfire cookout in January doesn’t require a parka and possibly an ice augur.  Or you could just say “let it snow!” and try my super-simple S’mores Trail Mix recipe. Continue reading »
