Thank you to Kidecals for providing us labels for keeping kids organized this summer.  All opinions are mine.

Summer break is something that nearly every child looks forward to.  There are dreams of lazy days, swimming, trips to the zoo, and just hanging out with their friends.  There isn’t much structure in the summer, and that’s half the joy.

With the loss of school-days structure, though, can come a desire to shed the structure of general home rules, too.

Here are five tips for keeping kids organized through the summer months and in all their summer activities (and beyond).

Thank you to Disney Junior for providing us with a copy of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Quest for the Crystal Mickey.  All opinions are 100% that of myself and Bubbles.

Bubbles as you probably know by now is, shall we say, a little mad for the mouse.  She could say Mickey and Minnie before she could say Austin and Ashley.  When we see commercials for visiting Walt Disney World on TV she stops, points, and says “It’s Mickey’s house!”  So when we recently had the opportunity the preview a copy of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Quest for the Crystal Mickey we were pretty excited, to say the least.

If you’ve visited Maine in the last few summers you may have heard of the Maine Fairy House Festival held at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor.  I personally was never able to attend but it was quite the tradition; fairy houses have always held a special place in the hearts of kids, especially ones that grew up near forests.  I don’t recall making one as a child, but as both Bubbles and I are big Tink fans, I thought it would be something fun to introduce.

Building a DIY fairy house is not only a fun way to create a little magic in your child’s life – it’s also a free summer activity!  In the outdoors with fresh air!  So the next time you have a sunny day and the kids are saying they’re already bored, send them outside to make one.

Thank you to JumpSport for providing us with an iBounce trampoline for kids.

Bubbles has loved to jump and bounce since she the day she discovered she could do it.  She’s actually a fairly (in my humble opinion, of course) athletic 2-year-old and she can get some decent air now and then.  I want to do what I can to encourage being active now while she’s young so that it’s a part of her lifestyle as she gets older.

JumpSport iBounce Trampoline for Kids

I wasn’t sure if she was old enough for a trampoline of any kind but then I found the iBounce trampoline from JumpSport.  It’s rated for ages 2-5 (up to 80 pounds) which made me think that it could be a good starter for Bubbles.  It also has attached handle bars which would give her a little extra stability as she really grows into her jumping skills. Thanks to US Family Guide for providing Thomas the Train Tour tickets for our family.

Bubbles enjoys watching Thomas the Train and so I was excited to find out that the Go Go Thomas Tour 2013 would be making a stop at the Kentucky Railroad Museum.  It’s not too far from us and it would be our first time riding a train, too.  So we’re planning a day out with Thomas!
