This how to avoid being hangry shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #WhenImHungry #CollectiveBias

I’m sure you’ve seen those commercials about “You’re not you when you’re hungry”.  Around here we refer to that as being hangry, and let me tell you – hangry is real.  Like, tears-for-no-reason, wearing-your-heart-on-your-sleeve kind of real.

You wouldn't like me when I'm hungry (or hangry). So feed me a SNICKERS®! #WhenImHungry

I’ve always carried snacks and drinks for Bubbles, either in my bag or in hers.  One day as I handed her a fruit pouch while stuck in a particularly long line, I wondered why I didn’t have any snacks of my own.  I certainly could have used a little something to sooth the beast at that particular moment.

Since then, I’ve made sure I always have something tucked somewhere.  And often that something is a SNICKERS®.  Not only am I treating my sweet tooth, but since they’re filled with nuts (and in some cases, peanut butter), I’m getting some protein to help satisfy me longer.

Avoid hangry in the car - stash a SNICKERS® Almond in the glove compartment #WhenImHungry

I can’t just leave them lying around, though, or hubby (who is also a SNICKERS fan) will swipe them.  So I’ve come up with some creative stash spots in places I’m most likely to reach for one.  For example, for those times I’m the navigator instead of driver, I keep a SNICKERS Almond in the glove compartment along with extra tissues, CDs for Bubbles, the tire gauge and backup sunglasses.

If hangry hits while on the go, I'm set with SNICKERS® #WhenImHungry

When we’re going out for a walk, whether it’s around the block or around the zoo, I always pack a few essentials into the compartment on Bubbles’ stroller.  If you were to peek inside, you’d find sunglasses, sunscreen, my phone, and a SNICKERS.  Usually I either pack a few minis, or larger bars that have two pieces inside so I can share with hubby (I’m not the only one that can get hangry).

Satisfy your hangry with SNICKERS® #WhenImHungry

If you’re also not you when you’re hungry, why not tell SNICKERS about it for your chance to win?  Enter the SNICKERS “Who are you when you’re hungry?” contest by uploading a personal photo or video from your Computer, Facebook, Instagram or use the SNICKERS Meme Generator to create something new!  Voting will be at noon on 5/11/15 and ends at 11:59:59AM ET on 7/15/15.

Save yourself from hanger with a SNICKERS® at Speedway #WhenImHungry

Oh and SNICKERS (grab yours at a local Speedway) aren’t just for snacking.  They’re great in a lot of recipes too, like my SNICKERS Salad recipe.  You can see more great SNICKERS recipes and fun stories on the SNICKERS social hub.

  1. Yes bringing yourself a snack is important. The kids snacks are not always my first choice! lol

  2. Every time I swing through a line I always pick up a snack or two for myself. It helps me to have something on my belly before I go shopping too.

  3. I’m pretty evil when I’m hangry too! Snickers is definitely something I can keep in my purse for busy days

  4. Snickers is such a great snack. I love the salty and sweet combination. Peanut butter Snickers is my favorite.

  5. I love keeping Snickers on hand for those hangry moments. The original will always be my favorite, but the peanut butter is pretty good too.

  6. Snickers is so good! I always keep some on hand. I find when I get hungry I get really grumpy. So keeping mini snickers or a big on in my purse is a great idea!

  7. I’m a total snack hoarder. I have them in every purse, coat pockets, car, and everywhere else. Snickers are my fave to get me through a “pick me up” moment. The mini’s fit perfect in coat pockets…just saying

  8. A Snickers sounds so good right now. I’ve never tried the almond kind.

  9. No sweets for us. If I allowed my son to eat Snickers, he wouldn’t want to stop. I agree, it’s fun to eat

  10. My husband hates it when I go too long without eating. It definitely affects my mood. I love Snickers, and it really does satisfy hunger.

  11. I am like the hulk when I get hangry. I try to avoid getting hangry with nuts and if those nuts are wrapped in chocolate even better!

  12. Hangry sucks. No doubt about that. I love those new Snicker peanut butter squares. They are so flavorful that when chocolate is needed I can have just one square and chocolate craving is gone.

  13. I hate it when I’m so hungry I’m grumpy.. I try to avoid going that far by eating a couple snacks.

  14. Snickers is a good way to curtail hunger. I like the almond version and the plain. Hubby l likes peanut butter. We all like the minis. :)

  15. We were out running errands the other day and it was getting close to dinner, I told the kiddo I was HANGRY… he looked at me like I was nuts and said ‘you know that’s not a real word, right’… it was so funny. I was completely HANGRY 😉

  16. I keep snacks with me, too! Snickers are a favorite.
