This post on HoneyBaked Ham Catering for the big game is sponsored by HoneyBaked Ham.  All words and opinions are my own.

If you remember back before the holidays, I told you about our family’s love for HoneyBaked Ham as a Christmas Eve staple.  Granted, I’d happily eat it any day of the week, but that’s the occasion with which I’ve always associated it.  But after spending time inside one of the local HoneyBaked Ham Cafes, I found that they offer a whole lot more.

In addition to being able to walk in and pick up a ham, I found that they also have whole and half turkey breast with that same delicious crunchy crackle.  Growing up, all our holiday dinners always included both ham and turkey, so this was a good piece of information to learn.  Now I can serve both to my guests, also, and only need to stop one place to pick them up. The other day I was at the store browsing through the freezer case.  We were planning for guests that would be coming over to watch football and my cart was already quite full with frozen foods.  But then I spotted Nestle Crunch Dipped Drumsticks and decided I just had to make room.

I tucked them in my cart and finished my Walmart run.  I had picked up some of our – and our guests’ – favorite foods for our get-together.  Stouffer’s lasagna, Hot Pockets, DiGiorno pizza, and Edy’s ice cream.  We would definitely have lots of yummy goodness for our party. Continue reading »

With the Big Game coming up, I thought I’d share some of my party planning tips and ideas.  Hopefully some of these suggestions will make it easier for you to be hanging out with your guests having fun versus stressing because you forgot to buy extra paper towels.  (And trust me, with football food, you’ll want those extra paper towels!)

Big Game Party Planning Tips

Make a List, Check it Twice

From whom you’re inviting to what you’re serving, you’ll need a list.  The guest list is usually the easiest thing to knock out, so do that first.  Plus you’ll want to give your friends and family enough time to shift their schedules so they can attend.  Next, write out everything you need to shop for: ingredients, packaged foods, paper products, decorations, etc.  I write out a master list on paper, then do separate digital shopping lists by store on an app in my phone. I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for HoneyBaked Ham. I received a gift card to facilitate my shopping trip and to thank me for participating.

There are a lot of traditions that are created and celebrated around the holidays.  Growing up, Christmas Eve was always at my Great-Grandmother’s house, where we had the opportunity to see family that we didn’t otherwise see the entire year.  Later we moved to having Christmas Eve rotate between my Mom and my Aunt’s house, where everyone had the opportunity to nosh on an eclectic mix of foods from spicy chicken wings to lobster stew.

When I married my husband, I married into a new Christmas Eve tradition.  My in-laws always serve a HoneyBaked Ham on Christmas Eve, complete with Hawaiian-style rolls to make sandwiches, plus lots of sides and other appetizers.  Before that I had only heard of HoneyBaked Ham, as they weren’t readily available where I grew up in Maine.
