We received a copy of Henry Hugglemonster: Meet The Hugglemonsters in order to facilitate our review.  All thoughts and words are my own.

One of the newest additions to the Disney Junior line up is Henry Hugglemonster and his family.  If you’re not familiar with the TV show, no worries!  Today Henry Hugglemoster: Meet the Hugglemonsters is available on DVD so you can pick up a copy and watch seven double episodes all at once.

I knew Bubbles (and I) would like this show from the first time I saw an announcement commercial for it.  The theme song is one of those really catchy songs that gets in your head and keeps you humming.  The cheery “Hey, hey, hey it’s a Henry Hugglemonster kind of day” will stay with you long after the show has ended.

I received a copy of The Little Mermaid 2 and Ariel’s Beginning 2-Movie Collection in order to facilitate my review. No additional compensation was received and all thoughts and words are my own.

The Little Mermaid has always been one of my favorite Disney movies.  The songs, the colors, the under the sea adventure, the romance – it’s the whole package.  I did always wonder, though, about the origins of the kingdom of Atlantica and what Ariel and all her siblings were like when they were little.

I also wondered about what happened with Ariel and Eric after they were married.  Was it truly a happily ever after story?  Did Ariel regret giving up her fins and family for a set of legs and love?

The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning and The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea 2-Movie Collection

To answer those questions, a few years ago Disney released both Ariel’s Beginning and The Little Mermaid 2.  I didn’t have the chance at the time to pick up either copy but now that both are available in one collection, I knew it was time to add them to my library.  Especially because Bubbles enjoys The Little Mermaid, also, and these would be something we could watch together. Thank you to PBS for providing review copies of these Holiday DVDs.  All words and thoughts are my own.

If you’re looking for holiday DVD options from your kids’ favorite characters, you’re in luck!  Many of the PBS KIDS shows have put out their own specials packed with winter- and Christmas-themed shows.  The DVDs include both older

Dinosaur Train: Dinosaurs in the Snow

PBS KIDS Holiday DVD Dinosaur Train: Dinosaurs in the Snow

Dinosaur Train is a favorite in our house and we’ve been enjoying the Dinosaurs in the Snow DVD for the last few weeks.  We’ve watched the dinosaurs travel to and see the North Pole for the very first time.  While there Tiny, Don, Shiny and Buddy also saw their first snow.  Later there was a discussion on whether or not tall trees – like Christmas trees – could really have grown from a tiny little seed. I received copies of these two Disney holiday classics in order to facilitate my review.  All thoughts and words are my own.

Christmas and Disney are two of my very favorite things.  And any time the two are married together, I’m even happier.  So when I saw that two of my favorite Disney Christmas movies were now available on Blu-ray Combo Packs, I knew I needed to add them to our holiday classics collection.

Winnie the Pooh A Very Merry Pooh Year

Watching Holiday Classics with Disney Buddies

When our DVDs arrived I gave Bubbles the choice of which one she would like to watch first.  She chose Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year which I have seen but she had not.  We, of course, had to snuggle with her Christmas-themed Pooh and Eeyore while we watched. Continue reading »

Thank you to Disney for providing us with a copy of Phineas and Ferb Mission Marvel in order to facilitate my review.  All words and opinions are 100% my own.

When you take two separate things and combine them together, it can either be really good or really bad.  Oil and water, they don’t mix so well.  A twist cone of soft serve vanilla and chocolate, those combine pretty well.  And when you take Phineas and Ferb and add in the Marvel Universe, well, that’s just good times.

And that’s exactly what has happened in the new DVD Phineas and Ferb Mission Marvel.  Some of the Marvel super heroes suddenly find themselves without their powers, and after calculating the source of the beam that hit them, they find the source to be Danville.  Apparently Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest scheme has had an unintended consequence and Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk find themselves teaming up with Phineas and Ferb to try and get their powers back.
