I am partnering with Dean’s Dairy during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to share their goal of generating resources for the fight against breast cancer here in Kentucky and Indiana.

Bubbles asked me the other day why she was seeing so much more pink around town.  Pink is one of her two favorite colors, so she definitely noticed the uptick in it’s usage.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, purchase Dean's Dairy's DairyPure Milk and they will make a donation for each gallon purchased

Since she’s only five I had a more vague conversation about Breast Cancer Awareness Month than I will when she’s a little older.  I told her that people are wearing and using pink to remind others about a disease that many people have. Continue reading »

Savory apple recipes, sweet apple recipes.  No matter which is your favorite the time of year for all things apples is here!  I remember picking apples off my parents’ apple tree as I drove by with the lawn mower.  A great reward for a little manual labor.

Try a different one of these 31 Savory Apple Recipes every day of the month!

Most of the time the tree’s bounty ended up as an apple pie.  But apples are great in a main course or as a side dish, too!  For some non-dessert inspiration here is a collection of savory apple recipes.  With 31 of them you can try a new one each day!

Fall means a lot of things – hoodies, pumpkins, falling leaves.  But it also means fall premieres of both favorite shows and new offerings.

Riding the carousel horses at the Louisville Zoo

Since then we have been to the Louisville Zoo on a number of occasions.  We have a list of “must do” items, like a ride on the carousel which only costs $2 to ride (it’s $3 for unlimited rides all day).  We then fill in the rest of the time with whatever animals are out that day, any shows that might be taking place, or new displays that are being rotated through like the LEGO creations we recently saw. Beauty & the Beast is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies.  I actually did my high school French class project on it, translating the song “Tale as Old as Time” into French.  I still can’t hear the song without “belle et la bête” running through my head.

Whip up a batch of The Grey Stuff Brownie Bites to celebrate the release of Beauty & the Beast 25th Anniversary Edition

The live action version of Beauty & the Beast will be in theaters soon, and I can’t wait.  But classics will always have a special place in my heart so I’m very happy that the 25th Anniversary Edition of Beauty & the Beast is available on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital combo pack today! Continue reading »
