Until just a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t know that Ice Age 4: Continental Drift was due to hit theaters in July.  I enjoyed the first Ice Age movie quite a bit, so I’m excited to see this one.  They had an Ice Age marathon weekend this past weekend, showing all the previous Ice Age movies.  Bubbles is really into animals right now, so she was getting a kick out of them.

I set them to DVR so we’d be able to watch them on Sunday.  Before we could watch any of them, though, I had some errands to run.  So Bubbles and I headed out to the stores.  We popped into Kohl’s and Target, then finished up our trip by picking up groceries.  Since it was Sunday, there were a few tasting stations set up.  One of the stations was sampling Florida orange juice. Disney/Pixar’s BRAVE is in theaters now, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still hard at work with new projects.  One of their next films will be Monsters University, the prequel to the highly-praised Monsters, Inc.  Directed by Dan Scanlon (Cars) and produced by Kori Rae (Up, The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc.), the film unlocks the door to how Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) and James P. Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman) overcame their initial differences and became best of friends.

Disney/Pixar's Monsters University

We are really looking forward to the film.  Monsters, Inc. is one of my all-time favorite movies.  Between Mike’s jokes, Sully’s soft heart, Boo’s adorableness, the surprise ending – there was nothing about it we don’t like.  We own it on DVD and watch it now and then.  Bubbles loves the monsters and giggles right along with Boo.  Hopefully we will be able to take her to see the new one in the theater!  The film opens on June 21st, 2013 and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D in select theaters.  While it’s almost an entire year away, the first trailer has been released!  There are four slightly different versions; this one is the “Clothes” one.

You can also head over to the Monsters University Facebook page and see three other version of the trailer.  Vote for your favorite and the winning line from the fan favorite will be drawn by a Pixar artist and shared exclusively with Monsters University Facebook fans!

Disney/Pixar's "BRAVE" - Change Your Fate

Disney/Pixar’s BRAVE opens in theaters today!  Are any of you planning to see it today?

A few days ago, my family and I had the opportunity to see a screening of it last week and I think you’re going to love it.  I won’t share my “official” review until next week so those of you that like to see movies opening weekend don’t run the risk of any spoiler.  But I thought I’d share a little overview, some new clips, and photos to get you ready to see it! I’ve mentioned in the past that Sprout TV and PBS Kids are two stations that we, along with Bubbles, enjoy watching.  They have a number of great shows in their line up, one of which is the Super Why series.  Well, the Super Readers are setting out on a new adventure that will take them around the world and they would like you to join them!

Super Why: Around The World Adventure DVD

The Super Readers are made up of Whyatt, Princess Pea, Red Riding Hood, and Pig.  They are also joined by Woofster, their book-loving puppy pal with Dictionary Power.  We loved that Woofster is making his DVD premier, as Bubbles is currently in love with dogs.

The DVD includes three adventures: Around The World Adventure, Nalia And The Magic Map, and Jasper’s Cowboy Wish and runs for 90 minutes.  In addition to the three adorable episodes (which we’ve now watched at least three times each; Bubbles highly approves), the DVD includes a number of extras.  There are interactive games, music videos, printable activity and coloring pages (which Bubbles has also enjoyed putting her mark on), and a resource guide for parents to help encourage your budding readers.

The first two episodes will be airing on a special on-air event tomorrow, but if you don’t happen to catch them, the DVD will release on June 19th.  Right now you can pre-order it on Amazon for under $12 and it ships free with Prime or Super Saver Shipping.  And follow PBS Kids on Twitter and Facebook for future announcements, specials, and more.

I received a product in order to facilitate my review.  No additional compensation was received and all opinions, as always, are 100% that of myself and my family.
