Disney/Pixar BRAVE's Merida

Disney/Pixar’s newest film, BRAVE, will be in theaters on June 22nd. Fortunately you don’t have to wait until then to get a taste of Scotland! Try one of the two new BRAVE-inspired recipes below! Click the image to download them for printing. I think we’re going to give the Scotch Egg a try this weekend.

BRAVE is the story of Merida, the headstrong daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. Merida challenges tradition in an effort to carve her own path in life. This causes unexpected anger and chaos – including a curse! – in the kingdom, located in the Highlands of Scotland. Merida will need to use all her skills and discover the meaning of true bravery in order to set things right.

The Secret World of Arrietty

The Secret World of Arrietty (AIR-ee-ett-ee) is based on the children’s book series The Borrowers. It’s the story of Arrietty, a tiny 14-year old who lives hidden with her parents in the recesses of a suburban garden home. Her family generally keeps to themselves except for when Arrietty sneaks out of the floorboards to “borrow” scrap supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. One evening, a young human boy named Shawn finds Arrietty and her family and a secret friendship blossoms. If discovered, however, their relationship could drive the little family from the home and straight into danger.

I didn’t have the opportunity to see this in theaters, so I’m looking forward to picking up a copy this weekend to add to my Disney DVD/Blu-Ray library. If you already saw it, what are your thoughts?
