Bubbles is already getting to where she has an opinion about how things look and are designed. She tells me frequently what she considers “to be fashion” whether it’s with her clothes (or my clothes) or the decor of her room.
A couple of weeks ago she told me she wanted to have her bathroom be “more fashion”. As it’s mostly been used as a guest bathroom she was right in that it wasn’t really designed with kid appeal. After some discussion she decided she’d like to see more purple. Continue reading »

Bubbles has a lot of different interests, but one that hasn’t waned since she was even just a few months old is her interest in animals. She’s curious about their habitats, what they eat, what they liked to do, and more. So we read a lot of animal-themed books and then I try and come up with projects or activities to tie in to reinforce the learning (and fun).

This Saturday is the national Free Seat Check Saturday. are going to be events all over the country, but if you’re in the Louisville area, I have the event you’re going to want to attend!
Before I get into all the details, did you know that according to Safe Kids, 73% of car seats are installed incorrectly? That’s a crazy-high number, but it’s one I can understand. There’s a lot to read up on and understand: LATCH or no LATCH, what’s considered “armpit level” for the chest clip, rear- or forward-facing?
Do yourself (and your kiddo) a favor and stop into one of these free seat check Saturday events. If Grammie & Grampie or your caregiver have a car seat installed in their car, invite them to come along, too. Continue reading »

Though it’s been (ahem) a few years since I was in the shoes of a college student, it hasn’t been that long since we were getting Ashley ready for college.
