Baking cookies and other treats has long been one of my favorite holiday activities. My Gram always turned it into a real occasion, filling her kitchen with dozens of different bars, squares, cookies, drops, brownies, and fudge. She would put a few of each sweet on a platter or in a box and deliver them to friends and family all over town.
I’ve been excited to see Jurassic World since I first heard it was being made. I still remember watching the first Jurassic Park movie when it came out and being entirely in awe when those first dinosaurs came into view as they rolled up in the little Jeeps.
Of course after my Chris Pratt interview awhile back, I was looking forward to seeing him in another role. I had really wanted to see it in theaters but I was afraid that even though she wanted to see it, it may be too overwhelming and scary for Bubbles. And with Ashley in Indy teaching and Austin away doing his Army training, our babysitting options are a bit limited at the moment. Continue reading »
Over the next few months you’re likely to host friends and family for a number of different occasions. We definitely love opening our door to guests though the germs that sneak in with them aren’t quite as welcome.
An easy way to help your guests avoid passing germs around while still getting to enjoy each other’s company, is to create an easy Holiday Guest Station in your home. I keep ours loaded up with anything that drop-in guests could possibly need or want while they’re visiting. Not too long after Bubbles was born, my husband got sick. I don’t really remember what it ended up being, but I do remember the frustration we all felt. He didn’t feel well enough to drive himself the doctor, and we really didn’t want to take Bubbles to an office full of sick people.
In the end either Ashley or one of his friends ended up driving him, but I remember wishing at the time that house calls were still available. And now I’ve found something even better than a house call: Amwell consultations. Continue reading »
