This week Matter of Cents and I are sharing our favorite birthday party ideas from Pinterest. When it comes to parties, I love planning, decorating, hosting – all aspects, really. So this was a fun theme for me.
Start the party off right by sending some cute themed invitations to get everyone in the mood. Here are a few cute ones.
I have to admit, I enjoy dressing Bubbles. I love cute baby and toddler clothes, from the little summery dresses, to tiny little sandals, to cute pairs of shorts in prints that only a 14-month old can pull off. And when those cute clothes give back to the community through charitable donations, I feel like I’ve scored double.
The combination of cute and charitable are just two reasons why I really love Lucky Puppy gear. The idea for Lucky Puppy came when Sandi Hochman adopted her first furry friend, Maddie, from a local shelter. She soon created her own line of pet-lover gear, Lucky Puppy, and donates a percentage of every sale to select dog organizations so that every dog can be a lucky puppy. Continue reading »
When we were moving into our new place, I had to go to the town water company office to get the water, etc. transferred over to us. When I did, they offered me a free plastic recycling crate to use. We can sit it out with the trash every Tuesday, and the waste management company will pick up both for us.
While I like that they support recycling efforts, and provided the container for free, it’s not really something that I want to set in my kitchen. It’s kind of unsightly and Bubbles would be trying to load and unload it all day long. I also am pretty sure I would trip over it 19 times a day. I didn’t want to just toss everything into a paper bag or box, though; so messy and they would only be good to use a few times before they were destroyed.
I know it’s quite advanced notice, but any new Disney movie release notice is always exciting news for me!
The Walt Disney Studios has announced a U.S. release date of March 14, 2014, for Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie in the title role as Disney’s ultimate villain. The live-action film explores the origins of the evil fairy Maleficent and what led her to curse Princess Aurora in Disney’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty. Leading a team of visionary filmmakers known for creating and transporting audiences to new and exciting worlds, Academy Award®-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (Avatar, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and Oz The Great and Powerful) will direct with a script by Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and Alice in Wonderland). Maleficent is produced by Joe Roth (Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and Oz The Great and Powerful).
I think Angelina Jolie is a really good choice to play Maleficent – she has that dark, brooding vibe and I can completely see her as a villain. What do you think? Was Angelina the best choice, or would you have chosen someone else?
Disneynature’s Chimpanzee opens in theaters today. There’s a cute new clip of Oscar called “Savor the Flavor”. It doesn’t sound too savory to me, but hey. I’m sure it’s great if you’re a chimp!
