I received Eiffel Tower Jewelry as inspiration for my post. All thoughts and words are my own.

There’s always at least one person on my list each year that is kind of hard to shop for.  Whether they’re the person that has everything, or they say they don’t need anything, or the kids are kind of at an in-between age where they’re too old for toys but too young for just clothes and “adult” stuff.  You still want to get them something memorable and special, but what?

My mother-in-law sometimes falls on that “what do I get her?” list.  Sometimes she’ll mention something new she’d love to have, and that’s helpful.  Other times I sit and think and think and think and still come up dry.  But not this year!

Korbella Eiffel Tower Jewelry Made from Pieces of the Actual Eiffel Tower

My in-laws love to travel and last year they did a tour and cruise in Europe.  One of the places they had the chance to visit was Paris, France.  They even brought up back a beautiful candle that commemorates the building.  So when I found Korbella, a company that makes Eiffel Tower jewelry, I knew it would be the perfect gift for my MIL.

Korbella’s jewelry isn’t just something with the iconic Eiffel Tower symbol stamped on it, though that would be pretty, too.  But this Eiffel Tower jewelry is made from actual pieces of the Eiffel Tower.  That’s right: you can own a piece of history and hang it around your neck.  Or wrist, or off your ears, for that matter.

So, how is that possible?  Are the Korbella folks over in Paris with a hammer and chisel, dashing in and out, avoiding the constables?  Of course not.  Back in 1983 the Tower’s original spiral staircase was removed (yes, people previously climbed 2,000 stairs to see the top!) and cut into 24 segments.  One segment is on permanent display at the Eiffel Tower, three are in museums, and the rest were auctioned off.  In 2011, Korbella was fortunate enough to purchase one of those segments in order to bring you their unique jewelry line.

Korbella Eiffel Tower Jewelry: Vermeil "Heart of Paris" Necklace

The Korbella necklace that we received is a beautiful sterling silver piece called “Paris Forever”.  The dark “stone” set in the center is the piece from the Eiffel Tower and it has “Paris, 1889″ stamped on it.  In addition to sterling silver the jewelry also is available in vermeil and rhodium.

Each piece of Korbella Eiffel Tower jewelry comes with a Certificate of Authenticity with a serial number.  On the back is a brief summary that explains the provenance of the item.  This would make a beautiful gift for anyone who has visited or dreams of visiting Paris.  And as Paris is the city of love, it would make a romantic gift for a special someone.

Have you been to Paris? To whom would you give a piece of Eiffel Tower jewelry?
