Thank you to Hamilton Beach for providing a Breakfast Sandwich Maker to make our back-to-school mornings run more smoothly. All thoughts and words are my own.

It can take a few days to settle into a new schedule once school goes back in session.  You may be tempted to skip breakfast for yourself, or the kids may say “oh, I’ll grab something at school” (who knows if they will) as they run out the door.  But as breakfast has been shown to help concentration during the school day, it’s important to resist the urge to add a few minutes to your day by ignoring breakfast.

For our family we keep our mornings on track with breakfast sandwiches.  In the past I purchased the frozen kind; lite for me, regular for everyone else.  While convenient they’re not exactly inexpensive plus you’re limited to just a few flavor combinations.  Then the folks at Hamilton Beach sent us their new Breakfast Sandwich Maker and our mornings got a lot more tasty.

I’m completely in love with this little machine.  Especially with it’s versatility.  It’s kind of like having a short-order cook that can provide you with a plethora of breakfast sandwich creations, satisfying whatever morning cravings you and your family have.  I also like how easy to clean and easy to use it is. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s back to school fashion for kids.  I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

A couple of weeks ago I shared with you all that Kohl’s might be a good choice for back to school fashion for kids.  They’re hard to beat when it comes to getting a great deal.  They already have great sale prices, but when you pair them with the sales passes that offer you 15-20% off your purchase (sometimes more, especially for those with a Kohl’s Card), plus Kohl’s Cash (usually $10 off your purchase), plus the occasional coupons, you’re talking about serious savings.

Because I know that Kohl’s is one of the best places to get the biggest bang for my buck, we recently took Austin shopping there for a few back to school items.  By the time you get to his age – he’s a senior in high school this year – it’s not really about the backpack or even a “first day” outfit.  It’s more about finding clothes that you’re going to want to wear multiple times throughout the school years. Thank you to Tiny Prints for providing myself and a winner with personalized back to school supplies. All words and opinions are mine.

The last few days of summer vacation are dwindling away, and the lazy days of summer are about to turn busy as schools go back in session.  Whether your child is heading off to school for the first time, is returning for their last year, or falls somewhere in between your calendar is likely going to be full of sports practices, after school activities, concerts, school project deadlines and more.  It can get even trickier if you have kids of multiple ages, in different schools, all with their own activities taking place simultaneously.  We try and keep on top of things with phone apps and synced calendars, but sometimes you just need to write things down in a central location.

Guess who can help with that?  Tiny Prints!  Tiny Prints has always been one of my favorite retailers for personalized cards.  We ordered Bubbles’ birth announcements from them and received dozens of compliments.  Their Christmas cards are beautiful, too.  But they also have a pretty extensive line of supplies to help the entire family stay organized.

If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram or Foursquare you may have saw posts or check-ins that reference Kohl’s.  That’s because I have been in love with Kohl’s basically since the first time I set foot inside one of their stores.  They have great brands (like Carters, Vera Wang, Food Network, and more), a wide selection of items, and amazing deals and sales.

A couple of years ago one of my biggest shopping dreams became a reality: Kohl’s built a brand new store just about 5 minutes away.  It’s a LEED-certified store which is something of which they are very proud.  Kohl’s is very devoted to being a good community partner and this is just one way in which they do it.  Another way is through their Kohl’s Cares program, which we love.  They regularly rotate in a new themed line of merchandise for $5 per item.  We’ve bought a lot of kids books, stuffed animals, and cookbooks that were part of the program.

Thank you to Squid for providing one of their cool Squidpacks for review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Hi, my name is Liza, and I love to shop.  You do, too?  Oh, good.  Do you mind if I tell my husband so that he realizes that I’m not the only one who would rather wander around Target or the mall than, well, a lot of things?

My favorite shopping, though, is shopping for others.  Really.  Trying to figure out what’s going to amaze my intended recipient is my idea of a fun.  I don’t always knock it out of the park though I have hit a few home runs over the years.  When you see that smile stretch across their face or their mouths drop open in awe, yep, that’s a great feeling.  Made someone’s day.

For those who don’t love to shop, however, gift-giving occasions may fill you with a little bit of apprehension.  Dare I even say dread?  And so with Father’s Day around the corner you may be starting to feel those little hairs on the back of your neck start to stand up with the thought of wandering around a home improvement store hoping that something appropriate will graciously fall off the shelf and into your cart for you.
