I’m not exactly a stranger to wildlife.  Growing up I saw bears and moose on my porch, heard wolves and coyotes howling through the night, and I’ve even had a deer hit my car.  Yes, you read that correctly: a deer jumped out of the ditch and bounced off the side of my car.

What’s a little new to me is the aggressiveness and possessiveness of a generally docile creature: a bird.  And I don’t mean seagulls, which can be very aggressive, or even predatory birds like a hawk.  Just your general run-0f-the-mill small bird, like a robin.

Last year my husband came back in the house and announced that a bird had taken a diving swoop at his head as he tried to enter the garage.  I’ve seen birds fly into doors and cars before, so I just assumed it was disoriented, so we kind of laughed it off. Continue reading »

I received Hershey’s products to fill my DIY Tutu Easter Basket as well as a stipend from Global Influence. All thoughts and words are my own.

Awhile back my Aunt made Bubbles one of those cute tutu skirts.  They’re quite adorable, and Bubbles loved it.  She liked to put it on and dance and pretend to be things like fairies and butterflies.

DIY Tutu Easter Basket with HERSHEY'S Goodies #BunnyTrail

She’s grown out of it now, so I need to make her one.  In the process of gathering the materials to do so, I thought – hey, it’s almost Easter.  Wouldn’t a tutu Easter basket be really cute?  So I decided to pick up a basket along with a few lengths of tulle and make one along with the skirt. One of my favorite parts of baking chocolate chip cookies is the cookie dough.  I realize that you’re really not supposed to eat it with the raw eggs and all, but I live on the edge.  For me, it tastes almost better than the baked cookies!

SPLENDA Sweetners #SweetSwaps

A few years ago I found out that you can make cookie dough specifically to eat – there are no eggs, so no worries about bacteria.  I don’t make it often because while it may be safe to eat, it’s not exactly good for my waistline.  But recently I made a swap – a sweet swap, using SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend. I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This #NewFavorites shop on pizza party ideas for basketball games has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and its advertiser.

So, it’s March.  And while March means lots of things – the onset of spring and my birthday, for example – it also means one other major event.  College hoops tournament!

Now, here in Kentucky college basketball is a Really Big Deal.  One of our colleges actually has the most wins over like the last five decades.  People here live and breath it all season, but especially in March.  Local businesses even close down and send employees home just to watch.

Pizza Party Ideas: Pizza Pick Pennants for Your March Hoops Party #NewFavorites #shop

For me, it’s the perfect excuse to have friends and family over to watch the basketball games on TV.  And because I love a theme, I’ve been putting together a few pizza party ideas to share with you all.  Pizza is a convenient food to share with guests, plus it’s easy for everyone to eat while jumping up and down and cheering. My love for Disney is certainly no surprise to those of you whom have been reading this blog for any length of time. I’ve loved all things Disney since I was just little, and laying eyes on Cinderella Castle for the first time simply cemented the connection for me.  The magic of Disney, the attention to detail, none of it was lost on me.

When Disney first released their collection of Vinylmations, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of them.  The small collectibles – their names derive from a combination of the words animation and vinyl – come in a variety of sizes.  They’re all shaped like Mickey Mouse but have different colors and markings to represent everything related to Disney.

Blank and Bow in Disney's "Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story" #BlankandBow

I don’t yet have much of a collection, but I do have a few special ones.  One of the Bakery series, one with the year on it, a few of the characters I really love.  I’m also looking forward to adding one that Bubbles gets to choose when we take our first Disney World trip. Continue reading »
