I’ve always been thankful that the friendships I made in elementary school, junior high, and high school have transcended both the years and the miles. Since graduation I left Maine for college in Florida, then back to Maine to work for a few years, then back to Florida for a job, and now here in Kentucky. All the back-and-forth could definitely cause strain on some connections.
The one thing that isn’t always easy is the ability to cheer each other up. During high school if any of my gal pals were feeling blue over a guy or a grade or anything else, the fix was easy. We headed out to share a large order of french fries and then back to my house to watch the movie Grease.

Not too long ago one of my BFFs from Maine was having a rough few days. You know those weeks were absolutely nothing goes right? She had a couple of those back-to-back and I wanted to do something for her. So I popped over to one of my favorite gift basket merchants and had a little pick-me-up delivered to her house.
